The son of an incubus and a powerful witch, Rene didn't get a chance to meet his parents growing up and was raised with a vast misunderstanding of what he was, believing himself to simply be any other witch and not a powerful hybrid. This lead him on a journey of self discovery that, for better or worse, unlocked his powers earlier than he was prepared and sent him on a power hungry spiral in pursuit of the hellish throne.

This ended badly for him; since that kind of power can't go unchecked, he was dethroned by his own mentor. Now recovering from his fall from grace, he works at a cafe, regaining his humanity and reforming bonds his quest for power broke. But he can't deny the itch for control, and vents this need by moonlighting as a gentleman thief and teaching others his ways.
