Backstory: Krystal was born in the Crystal Empire but her parents moved to Canterlot shortly after. Her father is a crystal pony, and her mother is just a regular unicorn. Thus, she falls in between. She was given a small shard of the crystal heart to carry on her third eye wherever she goes to keep part of her crystal roots with her.
