*Little note: I do not plan to design Marionette's father yet though I do have an idea. It's just that I'm terrible at drawing males rn especially older males (to my liking). I prefer to design myself so I'll definitely design him one day.

Background story:

Marionette is from a Steampunk city. When her mother gave birth to her, she was born without one arm and leg. Thus, her mother named her Marionette. Soon after giving birth to Marionette, her mother passed away due to her weak health. Standing next to the bed where Marionette's mother cold body lay, her father sobbed as he held the newborn baby close to his chest. Her parents were once the perfect couple, soulmates if you will. She completed him and he in return. It broke his heart to see his lover so lifeless. Marionette wailed in his arms as he sobbed. Looking down at his child, her father can see traits of his wife and himself. He took a deep breathe and vowed to love and care for Marionette as much as he did with his wife. Understanding life has to move on, her father took one last loving glance at his wife before he took a step forward towards a new chapter.

Growing up without her mother, Marionette became a quiet child. Her father was still grieving for his wife's death but he understood that he has to move on. He owned a small Steampunk gear workshop with his wife before she passed away, where he specializes in repair (for any gear related equipment / objects) and making clock watches. Furthermore, each time Marionette grew, her father would make an artificial arm and leg for her. He spent so much time in his workshop, her father rarely spoke to Marionette except for necessities. He wasn't certain about how to communicate with her but he made sure she was well fed and provided shelter.

As time continues to move forward, Marionette started becoming more conscious around her surroundings. At the age of 6, she became curious about her father's work. Every day, Marionette would hang around the shop while her father dealt with customers and repaired gears. It was that one fateful day, while her father was making a new clock watch, Marionette jumped off her seat and came close with curiosity written all over her face. Her father was taken aback as they weren't exactly the closest and did not often talk much to each other. From that day forward, Marionette would sit nearby to observe her father's work and techniques. At long last, her father asked if she wanted to learn and Marionette nodded in excitement. This was the first time her father saw a smile on her face.

Years has passed, Marionette discovers her passion for making clock watches. Ever since Marionette grew an interest in her father's work, their relationship has grown for the better. They interact with each other like a normal father and daughter relationship. Furthermore, Marionette now helps out in the shop and delivers repaired orders back to the customer (by flying). Sometimes, when Marionette is asleep after working so hard, her father would tuck her in or check on her. With a soft smile, he was reminded how much Marionette resembles his loving wife. She grew up to be more cheerful and he couldn't ask for a better daughter.

Present day:
Marionette is 18 years old. Neighbors and regular customers who visit the shop all know Marionette and she goes by Mari for short. Her father was the one who started calling her Mari since her name was hard to pronounce.

Personality: A lovely lady, Mature, Cheerful, Passionate making clock watches, Not too interested in repairing but she's able to assist her father

Here are some pose ideas if you would like to draw her: https://www.pinterest.com/pinterest_134291/marionette/

Wings are optional when drawing Marionette (but preferred if you can). She uses her wings to deliver orders back to customers. People in the Steampunk city could make wings that allows them to fly but not too high. Things to note about the wings: The wings float behind Marionette allowing her to fly. Wings are not physically equipped. It's called magic!  I totally didn't make this up for the sake of the beautiful cloak...

Please do not design her father. I feel like some people might want to draw Marionette with her father but I have yet to design him yet. I added a little note to the description.
