About

Jollybeans are born from children in desperate situations, and that story was true for Prince Percival. Bullied and outcasted by her peers, the young girl who birthed Percival just wanted someone to wisk her away. A prince out of one of her fairy tales, handsome, strong, and most importantly, kind. So, as she wept in her bedroom again after school, a routine she had gone through time and time again, her knight arrived. Greeting her from her window, A strapping young man from her stories, with soft orange eyes and scales covering his skin, a conch unicorn horn peaking through his messy blue hair. He took the young girls hand, and just like in the stories, whisked her away. He brought her to the sea by her house, where the gentle waves would embrace her, and spent the day dancing with his new friend until the sun began to set and her mother called for her supper. Yet like clockwork, that girl would return back to that spot, looking for her prince to emerge from the sea and give her a gentleman. Like clockwork, Prince Percival would return, a smile on his face. When she cried, he held her. When she smiled, he smiled. When she rambled, he listened. She had someone to hold onto, and the once loney girl, felt much more comforted. Knowing that no matter the insults thrown at her by her peers, her handsome prince would be their to remind her how much she was worth. How pretty she was, how smart she was, how creative and wonderful she was. To shower her with love her peers didn't give, and with time, the shy, meek girl began to gain more confidence. As she grew, her confidence grew with her. She began to make friends at school, participate in clubs, go to sleep overs. She no longer had time to visit her Prince everyday, yet Percival remained. To be her rock, allow her to cry on his shoulder when the bullying got too overwhelming, allowed her to listen to him sing his siren songs and play in the water with him. Eventually... he wasn't needed anymore. She had new friends to lean on, new friends to support her. Though his parting from earth bittersweet, Percival knew it was for the best.

Finding himself in midveil, he longed for two things: his handsome human form back, and a sea to sit by. The land of Dreamhaven was much too... up in the air. While nice at first, exploring his new world, he quickly got bored of it, and longed the salty smell of the sea he would spend his days waiting by. So he got a map, and flew his way to the nearest sea-bound town. Sea Salt Port. Their the young Jollybean found a home much more like the one he was used too. Small cottages and a vast, beautiful beach, with the added bonus of lovely pink sand reaching for miles. He worked as a trader between Dreamhaven and Sea Salt until he could afford his own little cottage to live in, and fainlly settled down. The charming, noble Jollybean, while he stuck out like a sore thumb, managed to find himself quickly fitting in. It seemed like he was even able to tame the most rowdy of beasts, making close friends with the retired adventurer Kippers. He fit into every crowd thanks to his kind, fairy-tale nature. After years of living in the small town, a new door in his life opened up. No longer did he need to be a trader, as the mayor stepped down, and elections for a new one opened. The Prince quickly signed up, and ended up winning in a landslide, anointing his close friend Kip, as Portmaster, and his assistant.

Now he spends most of his time keeping Sea Salt afloat, chatting with locals and outsiders alike, and filing out way more paperwork than he signed up for. Still, being Mayor was a fuffiling Job, and he wore it as a badge of honor. Despite this, the Jollybean wasn't fully ready to give up his job as a Gaurdian. While he didn't have time to spend years besides a new child (nor did he have the heart) his prince form did come with a sword on his hip. When he does visit Dreamhaven to eat his fill, he will often stay for at least a week, traveling the dreamscape and hunting shadowy nightmares threating the minds of young children. With elegance and a regal aura, he takes his Earthen form and vanquishes any foe that stands in his path. When he can, he always finds time to visit the child who birthed him, just to check up on them. Bringing her into the lavish castle that they would spend many nights within, the two share tea and dance in formal wear in beautiful ball rooms. She's college age now, studying to become a Marine Biologist, yet despite her much older face, she always manages to get a child like wonder when seeing Percival that warms his heart.

Rumors have it though, that the earthen girl has been replaced with another Princess. Gossip-found members of Sea Salt have claimed that they have spotted the well-loved prince ball dancing under the moonlight with a certain Froggy Strudel. Flowery Poetry can be found on his desk whenever he's visited, and some have claimed that they have caught him staring out at the docks with a lovesick gaze. That's just rumors though, right?
