Personality 

Eleanor is a very caring soul, she would do anything for those that she loves, including putting herself in difficult situations or wearing herself out to take care of them. She loves her family, her kids mean more to her than anything else, and she also has a heart for kids who have had hard relationships with their moms - she will willingly be like a mom to anyone who needs it. She has a creative mind and loves to write children’s stories, and she draws simple drawings for her books as well. Has a bad habit of putting the weight of the world on her shoulders to protect and take care of others.

Backstory

Eleanor’s parents died in WWII, she was raised by her grandparent, and they were good guardians, though they were older and were in a nursing home by the time she finished college. 

Not long after college, Eleanor went to a fancy party where she met Richard Preston. He seduced her and they had a one night stand, which resulted in Eleanor becoming pregnant with Ben. With no support from family, she did not know what to do, and ended up finding Richard to ask for help. However, when she did so, his grandmother overheard. She was sick of Richard’s playboy attitude and said he needed to marry Eleanor or lose his inheritance. Which was the start of a horrible relationship.

Richard never cared much for Eleanor, thinking she was too soft, he tore her down and had many affairs while they were still married. Eleanor tried her best to cope, Ben being the light of her light, helping her smile when she didn’t think she could. When she found out she was expecting Luke, she saved up as much money as she could, planning on running away with both of the boys once Luke was a few months old. However, Richard found out and took her money. Then he told her to leave with Luke and not try to fight him for Ben, because he had the money to make sure he kept both boys. 

Heartbroken, Eleanor left, not even getting to say goodbye to Ben. But she had to stay strong for Luke. Her friend Mary helped her in the beginning and Eleanor found a few jobs to take care of her youngest son. After time, she was able to move to a nicer place, and further away from the New York scene. 

When Luke was 13, Richard contacted her about Luke’s powers. Eleanor did not want to let Richard back into her life, but when she was offered the opportunity to reconnect with Ben, she couldn’t say no, as leaving him behind was her biggest regret. After a rocky start, Ben did eventually forgive Eleanor and they reconnected, and Richard backed off a little bit as Ben stood up to him with the help of his girlfriend/wife, Darla.

Around that time, Eleanor also met Edmund, the father of Chloe, one of Ben/Darla’s friends. They both had trauma with relationships and hurts and for a while where just friends, but feelings grew and they eventually fell in love and got married. They also had a surprise daughter, Nadia, and they both heal and give each other the love and care they had gone so long without.
