Simon Watanabe

The long suffering explosives-dealer of Alexei. He'd love to have a moral compass, but the bills need to be paid and if selling explosives to a mafia member does that for him, he'll make whatever you'd like. He suffers from agoraphobia, and leaves his apartment/lab maybe once a month for groceries. Otherwise he keeps to himself in his home, fulfilling Alexei's orders and working on personal projects.

Simon is not very good at social interaction, and tends to be incredibly blunt, which is only compounded on by his sleep deficiency. He keeps to himself, and most of his human interaction is with Alexei and his cohorts. It's made him even jumpier than he usually is, and if he didn't have to leave for food he probably wouldn't leave his home at all.

Simon got into chemistry at a very young age, courtesy of his mother who worked in the field. It's a passion that followed him into his college years, and what he eventually got his degree in. He liked making small, cute things that harmlessly exploded into smoke or sprinkles in his free time, and it's what he initially got good at explosives for. However, that didn't pay the bills, and with his agoraphobia worsening he was having trouble keeping a job. Rent was becoming due, and Simon was getting desperate. By chance (or maybe planned..?) on one of his monthly home-outings, he ran into Alexei, who had a strange amount of information on him and a stranger proposition: work for him, and his amenities were paid for. Without many other choices, he accepted. Alexei is the only person he keeps in regular contact with at this point, aside from monthly calls with his very concerned mother.
