Laudry was created in a freak accident at a detergent factory, given sentience when an explosion caused the tanks of 30 different laundry detergents to leak, mingling and merging together on the cold concrete floor. The resulting slime was then given a name-- Laudry, and was raised on-site as property of the detergent company. They were kept secret for a time before becoming an internal mascot of sorts, though their penchant for pranks and troublemaking caused them to be disgraced and essentially booted from the company.
Now homeless, Laudry struggled to fend for themselves in a world they didn't quite understand, though hope appeared for them in the form of an advertisement. Food, housing, and payment would be provided to any slime who offered to partake in a research study to better understand them. With nothing to lose, Laudry was more than happy to accept the offer.
Upon arriving, however, Laudry quickly realized they'd made a mistake. Though slimes were a well-accepted phenomenon, the details into exactly how they were created, and what granted them sentience were always up in the air. Even the world's greatest minds bickered endlessly over their genesis. This study sought to find the true answer at any cost. Refusing to be dissected for the 'greater good', Laudry made their escape.
Now knowing the truth behind the experiments being performed, Laudry has made it their mission to not only bring these atrocities to light, but to also take down the research facility that orchestrated them. And also maybe the government while they're at it. They're just one slime though. It's a little tricky.
