Redacted Coolatta

About

Red and their brother Tommy grew up in Black Mesa, being raised by Harold Coomer and Dr Bubby since their father was busy with business. While growing they met a creature that had snuck in through one of the Xen portals and befriended it. As they grew up the creature took on various forms, and eventually vanished. An older Red discovered that it had fallen through (and presumably came from) a Xen portal accidently, and went through it themself to get it back. This was when their and Tommy's G-Powers began manifesting. The creature Redacted had brought back quickly escaped through the ventilations, and Red was found by Coomer and Bubby and chastised for their dangerous behaviour - however the two did help them cover it up.

Red begins the series self aware, and thus is often rude or dismissive of Gordon. But as it goes on they find out Gordon really does care about them, despite them being A.I.

Also they end up dating Forzen sometime between the HL1-HL2 timeskip.

Trivia

  • They took the creation/reality manipulation side of their dad's powers, Tommy took the time related abilities.
  • The primary way their abilities manifest is "model swapping", where they can take parts or abilities from various HL models and creatures (i.e manipulating themselves into a HEV suit to avoid radiation).
  • They tend to use their powers for more self serving purposes than their brother would, and are less concerned with those around them. However, when they do make friends they are fiercely loyal, and will do literally anything for those they care about.
  • They are close friends with Benry, and are aware that he would become the main villain.

Being... "real", it only mattered to us because we were scared and didn't understand. But now I know... We were always real to you.
