小雲,你還記得嗎?
Little Yun, do you remember?

你,在一個陰沉的夜晚出現了在我的視線中。小小的你,在天空中飛翔。飛得.....真是太高了,但......你在飛, 在用自己的翅膀飛。
You, who came to me on a cloudy night. Little you, in the sky flying. Soaring...far too high. But, you were flying, flying with your own wings.

你要記住,它們是你的。 你的能力,你的力量,你的翅膀,全都是你的。
Remember, they are yours. Your ability, your power, your wings. They are all yours.

About

Personality [Confident / Vain / Tenacious / A ladies' man, but for men lol]

A studious, tenacious and extremely confident individual, Liu Yunfei stops at nothing to do the best he can in whatever he is interested in. Whether it be his job or his religious skin care routine, Liu Yunfei works extremely hard until he reaches his degree of satisfaction. And finally it is when he can flex his knowledge jk, but he is a bit of a know-it-all.

Even when he’s not sure he can do it, the drive of the possibility of him not being able to succeed in something grinds his nerves (unless it doesn’t relate to his interests then he doesn’t give a shit). The type to be like “if they can do it, THEN I CAN TOO.”

Liu Yunfei is extremely prideful in his work and while he doesn’t like being told he is wrong, he will accept criticism (with a totally not sour face) because he is a “professional” and ultimately, he wants his job to be perfection~ A bit easy to rile up, it’s easy to get Liu Yunfei worked up over trivial competitions, especially when drunk. Though usually it doesn’t get too stupid...usually.

Hair as smooth as silk and skin as clear as a fine summer’s day. One could say Yunfei likes to take care of himself, perhaps to an excessive degree (though sleep...is often a different story). Nonetheless, he knows of his good looks and enjoys the attention he gets for it. And of course, good-looking clothes for a good-looking man is the only way to go. He knows he is vain and he fully embraces it.

As a true skincare-holic, Liu Yunfei has an intensive skincare collection and does his utmost best to keep his skin supple and clear, even without enough sleep. Truly a wonder, really.

Definitely due to his background and own observational skills, Liu Yunfei is good at bullshitting his way out of almost anything. In turn, it helps him be a ladies’ man, but for men when he wants to get into someone’s pants.

Other

- due to his slave origins, Yunfei was pretty self conscious of how he appeared
- what started from insecurity gradually became enjoyment from taking care of self and looking good (less self conscious but damn is he envious of those that have naturally good skin / body)
- very up with the trends in terms of skincare
- likes to break into art galleries and steal paintings, get in the news and then put it back (perhaps it stems from his “hah look at what I can do,” a need to validate his skills, a need for thrill)
- Ears droops when sad

Background

4am word vomit, so prob a lot of errors lol

A well-known art authenticator, Liu Yunfei has made a name for himself in the field. Strangely enough, rather than being passionate about the arts, Yunfei is much more interested in the process that has been done to create a good fake. Perhaps if his way into the world of arts had been different, he could have developed a true passion for the arts.

He doesn’t remember where he came from, only that one day his orphanage was bought out and he was suddenly thrust into the world of forgery. He had been called Shijiu (19) or..the “new” Shijiu.

The auction house he worked for appeared to be quite legitimate, if not for the forgeries that would be thrown in the mix. Not that he had ever seen the grand inside of the auction house, as that would have been too above his standing. For he had just been a slave—a brand forever seared onto his back, lest he ever forgot his place.

He was obedient at the times, and cheeky when he could afford to be, which sometimes earned him more whips than favours. And then he’d try to run away, which got him more whips. And then he’d work hard again, not that it really mattered to his superiors. They only cared that he had completed his job, until he came across a...forger in training. Shijiu had always been observant, aware of his surroundings and how he should act, and most of all these seemingly preciously cared for frames of fabric. Rather than the beauty of them catching his eye, it was the unimaginable amounts of money associated with them. And so Shijiu would hang around the lower ranked forgers, watch how they worked and what they were taught. Words of flattery rolled off of Shijiu’s tongue with ease and a pitiful act was easy to...act. Afterall, it was his reality. But the egos were stroked and cheap materials were thrown his way. Shijiu began to practice in his own way, selling whatever was “pretty” on the streets for a pretty penny.

One day, he coincidentally came across a struggling apprentice forger and so, out of boredom, he helped out. A few tips and a few strokes of his own and suddenly he was seen as something slightly more. Slightly.

Life did not change much. Shijiu got to take some lessons, help out some of the forgers, learn some boring ass history behind the artworks. Reach the fancy ass door of the auction house. Then he tried to run away a few more times, though he wouldn’t get beat as hard, since he was kind of useful now. His superiors started to see him as a funny kid as he’d rarely resist when he got caught.

Then he met a strange man. Tall and young, but with a head of grey, the man had smiled and inspected his replicas, offered a few compliments before buying them all with a generous tip.

Taking out his pouch, the man handed over a gold coin to him.
“You have a good eye.” He said, curious eyes peering into Shijiu’s.
Shijiu pocketed the coin, not even bothering to count for change. He knew it was worth far more than what had been bought. He smiled, nice and fake at the grey man. “I’ve been told that before.”
The man didn’t seem to care that Shijiu was not giving him change. He simply grinned, “Cheeky, aren’t you.”

He didn't know what had come over him that night but he had felt it was a good night. A good night to run away. Perhaps it was the gold coin burning a hole in his pocket that gave him the confidence to resist the guard’s attempt to grab him, and gave him the luck he needed to trip the guard before running on his merry way. If only he hadn’t been running up the building, and had a better option to escape. But the cracked window was there and so he crashed through it, a sudden cape flapping behind him as he seemed to hover for a split second before falling straight towards the ground below.

“Ah shit.” Shijiu closed his eyes, as he accepted his fate. He supposed he had made it...in one way or another.
The explosion of pain and death Shijiu expected did not come, instead a rather harsh and abrupt landing into someone’s arm was what greeted him.
Cracking an eye open, he peered up at his “saviour” and even his eyes couldn’t help but widen in surprise.
“Well, hello.”
An equally surprised and concerned, but friendly eyes greeted him. Friendly eyes framed by messy grey hair.
“Strange way to meet again, isn’t it?”

Once again, Shijiu’s life changed again. But this time, he was no longer Shijiu. For he had been given a name. Liu Yunfei.

Liu Wen, as Liu Yunfei soon came to know, was a prominent figure in the forging community. An independent contractor as his skills were too expensive to be monopolized. With a few words, Liu Yunfei was sold to the strange man. And before he could process what was happening, Liu Yunfei was at Liu Wen’s house. He was now his...son.

Strange couldn’t cut it. It was absolutely bizarre. Released from his slave seal, though the mark couldn’t be erased, Liu Yunfei was...free. Maybe he could have been more grateful, but that was not in Liu Yunfei’s nature. He didn’t care about currying favour with this strange man, he was too wary, too full of suspicions as to what he might do to him and so Liu Yunfei acted out. Who knew what sick things this man could be into. And so he tried to push the all too friendly man to his limits, but no matter what he did, he was only met with patience and affection.

Reluctantly, Liu Yunfei began to accept Liu Wen’s affections. He quickly picked up the differences in how those above the commoner status acted, Liu Yunfei settled into his new class with a new arrogance. And soon he was working right alongside his father in the world of forgery. Liu Yunfei was good, extremely good, and he found it fitting that he should be good. To repay this strange man who took him in. Though his father never gave a slightest indication of wanting repayment, Liu Yunfei only thought it was right, expected. That notion was soon eradicated when Liu Wen decided to change their line of business.

“You’re right, your talent did intrigue me.”
“But, that’s not the reason.”
“You will forever be my son, regardless.”

Liu Wen was a strange man, a good father, but a strange man. And once again, Liu Yunfei found him strange. Strange that he’d change his occupation to protect him, strange, strange, strange, strange—suddenly it didn’t matter anymore. Liu Yunfei finally realized—after all the shit Liu Wen got put through throughout the years, that maybe, they really were a family. And maybe, he had shed some tears after that (which was vehemently denied everytime it was brought it up).
