Profile

Walter Lewis; age 31, born on November 12th 1849 in London, England.
Raised into an unknown commoners household, his mother died when he was 5 years old. His father soon developed anger issues as an addition to his alcohol addiction and spiraled into debt, leading to the abuse and maltreatment towards Walter. Eventually, they had to move to the slums to escape loan sharks. The abuse didn’t stop until Walter’s father died 7 years later. The Lewis family, an esteemed household of dukes, had recently lost their heir. The current patriarch of the household, John Lewis, happened to find Walter on the streets. With Walter looking strikingly similar to the former heir, John, overcame by grief, decided to take the boy in. He didn’t adjust easily though, and the change from his former environment into a much more lavish one caused him extreme stress. He also had to keep up to the households expectations or another heir would be chosen. He worked hard, and the Lewis family started to acknowledge him, but eventually they started to lose interest. Walter yearned for the affection he lacked due to his upbringing, but his parents merely saw him as a tool. Life started to look dull for him, but he found a woman to love, Bertha Harris. She was a woman from a small noble family, and even though her family was falling into jeopardy, Walter didn’t care, as they had both fallen in love with each other. Two years passed, and Bertha’s family finally faced bankruptcy, thus, her parents sold her off. Walter was devastated, the only thing he had for himself in his life was stripped away. Little time passed before his parents urged him to find a good suitor. He didn’t have the time to catch up with his feelings and mourn his lover, and so he was forced to find a suitor into a high-standing family as not to disappoint his family. He quickly found someone, but he did not feel anything towards her. His family pressured him though, and he ended up in a loveless marriage with a random noble lady. She however, was in love someone else and he was quite aware of this. She would often visit the man she loved, but never Walter. As a result he now lives his life in a loveless marriage with a family who sees him as nothing more than an object.
