Bryn is an elf, closer to a child than an adult, by elven standards.
He's wild, having had no parental guidance from a young age, more of a feral child than anything. He lived in enormous forests for decades, becoming a master hunter through need for survival and sheer determination.
He's very playful when on his own, chasing small woodland creatures and racing up trees. However, since he has had practically no humanoid contact for at least 20 years, he is a terrible conversationalist. He is quiet, sulking, and stubborn around humanoids, not because he is against them, simply because he does not quite know what to do. He cannot read nuance of voice so he cannot understand any form of sarcasm or irony and also believes everything at face value. You could call him emotionally stunted, simply from his strange growth as a solitary child.
His only spoken interactions for much of his adolescence were with creatures capable of speech, such as fairies and nymphs, as well as the occasional hunter or pilgrim.
Even though he is childlike, he is also vicious, feral in his fighting abilities, able to take down foes larger than him through sheer tenacity and sharp teeth. He's an extremely adept archer, this ability improved even further when paired with his unparalleled climbing abilities. He's also not bad with knives, having used sharp sticks and stones as simple tools and weapons his whole life.
As a child he lived in a small village with his mother. The village was ransacked by a troupe of ogres, lead by a single, fearsome Giant. Bryn was the sole survivor of this massacre and has vowed to kill the entire band of giants. The only thing his mother taught him that he retained throughout his years of solitude were his lyre-playing skills - he is quite adept.
