Ariante has lived all of her life in the forest. She was born into a prestigious family of healers, but due to complications during the pregnancy she developed powers quite the opposite of those. She was abandoned as a young child, and her name went on to live it's own life in ghost stories and cautionary tales as the Withering Witch. Despite the rough start she actually had a good early childhood, as she was found by a man who ran a tavern in a forest village. He adopted her and raised her as his own. After having lived in the village for quite some years, it got burned down in a terrible fire, leaving her as the only survivor.
She managed to live from the forest, now traumatized and incredibly closed of, eating berries and other foods that do not need cooking, as she developed a phobia of fire. Occasionally she would go to the edge of the forest to steal food and other necessities from nearby houses. After a while she got reconnected with her childhood friend, who she thought also had died in the fire. This helped her move on a little, slowly starting to realize there is more to life than just surviving. She joined the Forest Guardians, a group of rangers who try to keep the forest safe and peaceful. She also started living in a little cottage near a lake, and is working on getting over her fear of fire.
Ari is stoic, stubborn, calm and a quick thinker. She has a lot of patience, though not for people, and is rather hostile to strangers. Once, but mostly if, she has deemed you as alright she'll be incredibly loyal, but a little awkward. She rejects her powers of decay, and will never use them on purpose as she simply wishes to protect the life and ecosystem of the forest. Ari likes going on hikes, swimming and summer rains.
She works from the same group as Willow, They're friends but don't talk too much, both content with just being in eachothers presence while doing their own thing. She hopes Willow can maybe help her with her powers of decay, something she has kept a secret from the Forest Guardians, but is too nervous and scared to mention it to her.
