Vanya is a tall, thin individual with medium brown skin that can be likened to shades of terra cotta or tawny. She possesses an hourglass figure, albeit her bust and hips being rather small and narrow. She has many stretch marks and loose skin on her breasts, stomach, thighs, hips and bottom as a result of her recent pregnancy. Vanya’s hooded right eye is an unsettlingly light, pale blue-grey color, the opposite eye being missing. She has a tall, straight nose, which had been broken during her marriage—the break only being noticeable when her face is compared to William’s. Vanya’s lips are full with a defined cupid’s bow. Her hair is long, black and curly, reaching her mid-shoulder blades when unstyled. Traced through her forelock is a mix of white and grey hair. Vanya’s nails are very long and sharp with a solid white pigment, a characteristic all angels share.
Vanya has a preference for all things vintage, which includes her wardrobe. She mostly wears clothing from the 1940s-60s, especially dresses. She mostly wears blacks, blues and neutrals.
Vanya also styles her hair in ways that fit early-mid twentieth century standards and wears dated makeup, her favorite being red lipstick. Her earlobes are pierced and she most often wears studs.

Vanya struggles deeply with self-expression and self-acceptance. She doesn’t have many people she associates with, and those she does bother with she tends to push away. She’s very avoidant and of the belief that she is meant to suffer alone, and will go to extreme lengths to make that a reality. Because of this attitude she could easily be referred to as a bitch. She often adorns a cruel mask toward others, despite not being a remotely malicious person.
Vanya is also very… ghost-like. That is the best way to describe her. She feels very out-of-place, like she does not belong. She’s both haunting and haunted.
After the birth of Ira Ephrath, Vanya would become more maternal and more open to showing her softer personality.

Post-World War II Vanya followed her twin overseas, getting involved with a bride-buying program. She would be purchased by a man named Elliot Sullivan, their marriage immediately turning to toxicity and abuse. Vanya didn’t adjust easily to a domestic lifestyle, having a strong sense of independence and refusing or questioning her husband’s authority. They often got into fights with each other, though they were rarely physical.
Late in the evening on a day in March of 1956, they would end up physically assaulting each other during one of their nightly fights. Vanya would beat Elliot with a rolling pin, him stabbing her in the face with a letter opener and breaking her nose. Vanya would need an emergency eye extraction surgery and be released back to her husband. From there the relationship would become even more tense emotionally distant, rarely talking to each other but continuing to share the same bed.
Vanya would murder Elliot after an attempted sexual assault later that year.
After the murder Vanya would relocate from the west coast to the east, hoping to start a new life. She would begin getting her books and poems published under her pseudonym. In the mid-1980s Darian would beg to stay with her, Darian escaping from a group of not so favorable people located in Canada after a long stint of heavy drinking and drug use. Vanya lets him in under the condition that he sobers up and stays out of trouble, which he is mostly successful in doing.
1987 Vanya would be reunited with her twin, both of them (and Darian) deciding to move to one of the few metropolises located in Michigan.
Vanya would begin working as an archivist as well as continuing to publish her books and poetry. Taking note of Vanya’s depressed and isolated nature, a co-worker would introduce her to Vincent, a young man with a similar disposition, assuming they would hit it off.
Vanya and Vincent would immediately form an unhealthy relationship that was sexual rather than emotional, the two of them poorly coping with compulsory heterosexuality and internalized homophobia on top of other mental health concerns.
In March of 1992 Vanya would become pregnant, and as a result she would cut Vincent off, not even giving him a reason on as to why she was no longer interested in a relationship. Vanya would initially attempt to seek out an abortion, but was refused by medical professionals. She then turned to adoption, but ended up backing out of it early on.
December 21, 1992, she gave birth to Ira Ephrath Morozova.

🌃 She is also very interested in fashion history. She owns many old clothing items, catalogs, sewing patterns, etc.
