Species information:

Shuǐ Zōng’s are a species of pony that live in and out of water. Their manes flow like the water they live in and protect their gills when they are on land. When Shuǐ Zōng are in the water, their Manes have a Semi Jelly like consistency Their manes are usually In different shades of Blue or green to Turquoise in color. When the Shuǐ Zōng’s come onto land, their water based manes gain a silk like consistency around the outer layers. Their Mane’s wrap around the column of their neck to cover their gills so they can still breath, it gives them the appearance of breathing air, which they in fact are, but their mane’s filter the air to make it safe for them.

There are two habitats for water-mane ponies. The tropical Shuǐ Zōng’s live in warm/hot climates and are usually a mix of fresh and salt-water types. They usually come in bright warm colors to match their habitats. They breed at the beginning of the summer solstice. The arctic Shuǐ Zōng’s live in the snowy and cold regions in the world both in and out of water once more both fresh and salt-water types. They unlike their tropical cousins breed at the beginning of winter solstice. It is very rare for a tropical and arctic Shuǐ Zōng to breed, it is not impossible just extremely rare. They can breed with normal ponies; the only thing is at least one in six foals will be born a Shuǐ Zōng.

Shuǐ Zōng’s are different from normal ponies on the fact they don’t earn your usual cutie mark. They gain a different type of mark called a Heart Mark. Their Special marking Appears Above their heart or in that general Area on their chest. It is unique to each Shuǐ Zōng. Each Shuǐ Zōng’s Heart Mark could have to do with where they live a special talent or their choice of Animal Companion.
