Other: Since she's only half Seafolk and that species is just a few fish parts under a mermaid she has her mother's ears but underdeveloped gills and fins. Her hair is also naturally white with a blue tint but other than that her appearance is very human.
She usually can get away with hiding her hair and ears with a head wrap or scarf.
Personality: Getting to her new position has been a trial but she's looking forward to make the best of it. She always keeps her guide at hand and sticks to the books
Likes: Spicy foods and snacks
Dislikes: Running and long walks (flat feet ouch), her relationship with "taming the wind" was a love and hate relationship ending with being blown overboard more than once, her mother still lingers around in spirit which is good but she's terribly nosey.
Wants: Save money to buy the lighthouse home on the coast, just to complete the aesthetic.

History: A tale as old as time, a baby was found at the doorstep of a temporary caregiver. The witch didn't have much to give but gave everything to help raise her. When her time grew near just around Velella's teen years the roles changed where she had to take care of her aging guardian. Balancing that between her job, school, and growing fascination with the sea was challenging but patience finally borne its fruit with Velella graduating from the witch academy.
Other: She pledged and receives her power from ??? the weather goddess of that region. However, no one quite expected for the goddess to go on a well deserved vacation from her duties leaving her assistant to hold down the fort until she returned.

Took on a different kind of familiar as none of the common spirits offered in the academy clicked with her. Ryde The Tyde was an imaginary friend but technically fit the bill for a familiar as their bond allowed her to complete many of the required tasks. She was also nicer which is always a plus. After some time they had to part ways as Velella wasn't in the position to travel as freely as RTT was craving. She didn't want to tie her down but RTT visits her often.
