MASTERLIST ENTRY || Purchased from studiomaz alongside Cervabloom #36 for $200

Clip-trot beware the leaf and loam, lest your fate be sealed by oil and bone...

They say that Death comes riding upon a pale horse, but this one is a little more....crunchy. Formed from solid bone and filled with slick oil, this Seeker and their Cervabloom smell faintly of fall and fallen leaves. They will stop at nothing to achieve their goals, and woe betide any guide or seeker who stands in their way.

Also, the skull's name is Hubert. Nobody knows why or how it got there, and Hubert will never tell.

___

- A seeker gone mad with grief and pain due to the loss of his bondmate long ago. He's managed to cling to life with the aid of his cervabloom's sympathetic magic, but the passage of time has finally begun to take its toll. Moroi knows he is fading into a Forgotten creature, and in his fear has left his home on Amethyst island to roam the land in a desperate attempt to repair his broken bond.

- Moroi is somewhat infamous on the isles of Guide and Seek as a monster that appears on cold evenings and moonlit nights. His passage is heralded by the clattering of bones and the smell of decaying fall leaves, as he sings mournful songs about grief and loss and how he aches to find a bondmate before time runs out for him.
- Sometimes this pulls on the heartstrings of other guides and seekers and draws them to him, but while Moroi is often very receptive to the attention of guides he tends to behave as though any seeker trying to speak or interact with him simply does not exist. Like a figure out of a romantic dream, he will approach a potential bondmate and ask them cryptic questions of whether they think they can heal him or if they would come away with him. If met with a positive response, he's likely to sweep them away and they're never heard from again.
- The first few guides who met him when he emerged from Amethyst Island disappeared that way, but as time went on and some clever guides managed to escape his clutches, the island's residents began to wise up to the danger that he posed. He treats the guides in his care with such tenderness and gratitude at first, forming friendships with them, promising them the world; but he will always call them by the name of his dead bondmate, and such a thing is the first sign that something about this seeker is horribly wrong.
- Moroi is a creature ruled by grief and pain, letting it shape him into something desperate and twisted despite his serene and handsome countenance. At any one point one can assume that his heart is on fire with the agony of his broken bond and that each step takes the tremendous effort of one swimming through a sea of broken glass. His Cervabloom, Lemure, carries him almost everywhere and he will very seldom dismount and move about on his own because of this.
- His situation is a very romanticized one, as who wouldn't dream of being the one to heal this dark and elegant creature made of oil and bone? It's that very mindset that lures guides towards him, and without quick thinking or a good backup plan, it isn't too difficult to end up dead in his hands.
- Moroi's delusions make him see every potential bondmate as the one that he lost; in the fog of his brain no other guides exist. If one chooses to take him up on his offer he will eventually speak of his memories with his bondmate, asking them things that only they would know or pushing them towards things that his bondmate had once enjoyed. He can be quite forceful with these things and any uneasiness or refusal is met with a cold, cruel anger.
- Moroi very rarely offers second chances and is difficult to appease once enraged. He isn't afraid of violence and will crush a guide to death with his own two hands if they are not quick or clever enough to escape him.
- In the same vein, he isn't afraid to try to force bonds with guides who already have a bondmate, and has little to no care nor awareness of their seeker partners. If his actions cause a seeker to become forgotten, it doesn't register in his mind despite his experience and progression to becoming forgotten himself.
- Anyone who challenges him, whether it be to save a guide in his care or free a bondmate, will be met with aggression. Moroi is not afraid to get violent or fight, and is quick to resort to it when he feels frustrated or inconvenienced. Despite his deteriorating state, he can command what little magic he has left reasonably well, but will more often than not resort to heavy handed physical strikes when challenged.

- Moroi was not always the ghastly monster that prowls the islands; he was born a curious seeker who had a deep love of nature and crystals and exploring. It led to him roaming far and wide before turning his attention to Amethyst Island and the curiosities that lurked within its caverns.
- On the journey there he met a guide with a passion for the island and all its secrets that rivalled his own, and since the two of them hit it off really well, they agreed to become research partners. Moroi took a thoughtful and academic approach to his work, writing paper after paper on observation in the field, while his guide partner was much more hands on and reckless, lending itself to many shenanigans and unexpected heat of the moment experiments.
- It didn't take much for them to develop a fondness for one another that grew into a deeper sense of care and affection. When the first signs that their bodies were becoming synthetic happened, they looked each other in the eye, shrugged, and figured they were in it together and there was no turning back from what they were becoming. Their bond was finalized shortly after.
- Many academic texts and essays on Amethyst island exist around the islands of guide and seek, referenced as some of the first documentation on the synthetic process. These are well articulated and written by a source that names itself 'Justice & Richter', though few would think, seeing what Moroi has become now, that these were originally penned by his hand.
