Malina does have an extensive backstory, but considering how old she is it's a significant effort to just recite it in its entirety, which is why she prefers to just talk about the present in relation to time. She only recently started to visit inland within this decade and lives in an apartment within Lith Harbor. She usually gets by doing jobs benefiting her background, which keeps her afloat just fine.
Malina stands right before five foot three and has an athletic build. Her sea green hair is braided into short pigtails with eyes of the same hue. Her usual outfit within the harbor is a wetsuit with black and sea green accents. Sometimes if need be, she carries a belt with pouches to hold tools or supplies for her adventureous lifestyle
Personality
Malina is rather reserved but becomes more lively whenever you start talking with her. She enjoys learning new things and new perspectives as its one of the reasons she started to visit on land. She isn't one to get upset nor offended easily but if she does... just avoid being around the water for a good week or two just to be safe.
She has a need to be helpful to everyone she meets unless she can detect bad intent. Stories of people being lost at sea have hit her more than any other she's heard, but has a fear of failing to prevent those losses. Due to her age, her mannerisms are often more polarizing compared to other characters I've made so far. Still, she tries to not have this issue be so prevalent in her life.

● She dislikes tomatoes for the conflict that people can't decide if it's a fruit or vegetable, thankfully they don't grow underwater - ● Malina's first name was a suggestion by a friend which worked, the fact its roughly "pretty girl" in slavic was a conidence
- ● The reason why she went with a wetsuit for an outfit was for practicality, sure she can change her body to a merfolk if needed but the amount of times she'd need to do it in her life turned her to the other option.
Abilities
Malina is a mix of healer and caster. The ability to manipulate water has many uses for healing and harming, from using it to soothe wounds or using it to be a projectile, alongside she has increased mobility while in the water. Although she's at her strongest in the ocean, she isn't empty-handed inland as she can use her power to borrow water from the land to help aid her, though its not a demand more of a request.
She also has the powers to help breathe underwater, although as of now the only way she can give it to others is mantained touch, although she is on a way to find a better method! Alongside her background, she can communicate freely with any aquatic lifeform, though if she wants to have help she'd have to persuade the talker to her cause rather than a command like other's of folk.
Backstory
Before surfacing
She doesn't want to talk about it, she does have it written down in her apartment but its anicent history to her. Although, once you get to know her she wouldn't mind telling if you were genuinely intrested.
Post surface
When she first came upon land she simply followed what she read in the books within the salvage of what humans do. It was quickly obvious that she was a good couple of decades behind. After meeting a gnomish port master she was able to get a career going within the town of Lith Harbor and managed to secure a home. Most of her jobs involve salvaging and boat repair which she isn't opposed to doing, just wish they'd tell people not to fish while she's on the job...
Rumor has it that she's involved with tales of shipwreck victims mysteriously waking up inland but nobody has been able confrim for a fact.
