Ollie is one of the protagonists in a webcomic, I am working on. Born with a wolftail that materialises when they show strong emotions, Ollie fight with opening up in fear of pushing people away and/or being ostracized.

When you first meet Ollie they will seem quiet and nonsignifiant - this is intentional since Ollie actively tries to melt into the background so to not be perceived. Bullying on their last school taught Ollie this was the best way to survive so they are hestitant with opening up to others.
If you are lucky enough to earn Ollie's trust you will see a completely different side of them: Ollie is goofy, passionate and fast talking. They feel connected to animals especially wolves and rats so they can talk about these two species for hours on end.

At school Ollie is the impersonation of 'your kid is smart but should socialise more'. They suck at math yet have a great mind for languages, and due to their special interests they do well in biology as well.

- Ollie's story is meant as a pseudo retelling of my own experiences as an autistic nonbinary person - in this regard the tail is an allergory for neurodivergens.
- Ollie's special interest in wolves is inspired by Hunter Noceda from the Owl House.
- Ollie previously had a rat called Alu that Ollie said was nonbinary in an attempt to practice using genderneutral pronouns.
- A third animal that Ollie love a lot is the fruitbat since in Ollie's word: "they are pretty much rats with wings".

Disclaimer: since I plan Ollie as a comic character their story is neither fully developed or will be described fully here to avoid the biggest spoilers.
Ollie is the youngest of a family of five and the only person - that we know of - who is nonbinary and have a wolftail. Their parents are not sure how to deal with Ollie's "quirks" (as especially Ollie's mother calls it), while Ollie's older sister, Cam, seems more sympathetic and helpful.
Ollie's parents bought Ollie a pet rat as their seventh birthday gift, hoping the company of the animal would help their anxious and lonely child. Being obsessed with the Balto franchise Ollie called the rat Alu inspired by their favourite character. Before coming out Ollie would try on genderneutral words for Alu describing the rat as nonbinary or genderqueer. After the death of Alu Ollie later got two other rat that they still have today called Balto and Ainu, also named after characters from the Balto franchise.

Ollie moved school after years of bullying and is now starting a new school. As a way to push themselves to make friends - since they want friends but too in their own head and fears to try - they have come out as nonbinary hoping living their honest truth will make the situation easier.
It was only when Ollie met Fanta, a selvdescribed 'weird cat girl' that Ollie began to feel at home on their new school. With Fanta Ollie began to open up and show their passionate 'wolfish' self. The two quickly became best friends

Favourite Movies
Balto (1+2); Childhood faves. Felt seen in the underdog representation of Balto in the first movie and in Alu's identity questioning in the sequel.
Wolfwalkers; They love this movie especially for the vibes - they are a sucker for irish inspired music, they find the animation gorgeous, and that it is about wolves is a bonus.
Howl's Moving Castle; They love the whimsical nature of the nature and find Howl a fasinating character (and a big gender envy moment).
Favourite series
I Am Not Okay With This: relates to Sidney and how she has something about her that makes her different that she has to suppres.
Beastars; They started watching because of the wolf main character and continued watching for the social commentary and the underdog story.
Sense8: Love the grand scope and the idea of the sensates (secretly wishes they were a sensate so they didn't feel so alone sometimes). Relates all too well to Nomi, the transgender character of the show.
Favourite foods/drinks
Beef souvlaki with tzatsziki; Their parents often tease Ollie that they must be half italian - they'd just always loved the simplicity of meet on a stick and garlicy cucumber mush.
Chicken nuggets; Simple and has yet to let them down.
Mint cocoa; They love some hot cocoa especially if putting a bit of mint down in it. Might seem odd but they like it.

Fellow weirdo turned best friend and closest support. They help each other with homework given that Fanta is great with math and not language and vice versa. Ollie loves hanging out with Fanta since they feel they can be themselves without shame.
Ollie both admire and is intimidated by Cam since she seems so cool and have everything figured out with her life. Cam is patient and a great support for Ollie when they are having meltdowns, yet Ollie also feel guilty for putting so much pressure on their sister so they tend to hide their feelings from her as long as possible in an attempt to not seem needy.
Still unnamed, Ollie's parents are on the outside great and supportive yet Ollie quickly learned that they were burden for their parrents. Ollie's mother especially makes it a thing to tell Ollie how much their wolftail and gender identity wears on her. To Ollie it seems that their parrents are more interested in keeping up the facade of a perfect family than creating a good enviornment for the children. Icon tba.
