Alexander was born to Robert Matthews a Veteran of the Second World War and his war bride from France, Annalise in Portland Oregon on the 4th of February 1957. They lived a normal family life with his father imparting the importance of serving their country. Inspired by this father's words he joined the military when he graduated college and during the time he was dating a fellow student from his college days by the name of Hyun-Ae and after he completed his training but before he was shipped to Lebanon. He proposed to her and she agreed. Then he was shipped off to fight in the Lebanese civil war as a part of the Multinational Force in Lebanon. Unfortunately the worst happened when an explosion rocked the barracks that he was living at. The results of the injuries he sustained in the attack was blindness. Due to this he was approached by the dog soldier program and they said that they could heal his blindness and he accepted. He then was brought into the program and everything changed for him...
