Yumemura Kisaki

Kisaki grew up with the heart of an explorer.

As a child, her father would often share stories of his grand adventures - adventures he'd 100% made up, of course, but little Kisaki didn't know that! He had been a firm believer in making the ordinary extraordinary, and strove to sneak little forms of magic into her life however he could. 

One such way was through an antique key her mother had bought. When his daughter couldn't sleep for fear of a dreadful nightmare, Mr. Yumemura picked up the key from the mantle nearby and put the tip against her forehead. Confused, Kisaki stopped crying when he turned the key and made a noise like he'd unlocked something. "I've unlocked your good dreams. You can sleep safely, Kisaki," he said. 

Unlocking Kisaki's good dreams became part of their nightly ritual until her father died, and afterword she still slept with the key under her pillow. The key is small enough for adult Kisaki to wear as a necklace and it travels with her everywhere: adorned with a pretty lavender ribbon.

It was a perfectly ordinary key, but to Kisaki's childhood memories it was magical.

Eventually, Kisaki's strong connection to dreaming enabled her to enter the world of dreams: Nightopia, where she near-immediately had a run-in with Reala. Fortunately, she found a close friend in NiGHTS, and the two have been inseperable since! As Kisaki explored the dream world, she found them right with her and ready to defend if need be. It was no secret that she relied on them, and in turn they relied on her.

What made Kisaki special, however, was her imagination: being that it was so strong, Kisaki had the ability to create dreamscapes out of nothing! A strong ability like that could easily land her on Wizeman's radar. But she would have nothing to fear with her familiar ally beside her.

But fate had other plans for her adventures in the dreamworld...

One day, in a fit of panic to avoid Wizeman's wrath, Reala had used a malformed Persona mask to make NiGHTS act a little more... well, Nightmaren-like. Unfortunately, their strong connection to Kisaki manifested as something akin to an obsession: scared for them and for herself, Kisaki saw no choice but to stay awake and avoid dreaming lest she run into her fallen friend before she could truly help them.

"You are yours until you sleep: but when you sleep, you are mine."

Heart in tatters, it wasn't long before the theatre doors opened for her: 4 days without sleep took their toll, and she fell asleep while explaining the situation to Prima Sayaka. And as she fell, Wonderworld opened up a gate directly to Nightopia! Deciding to investigate the strange gate, Sayaka, Aurora, Nox, Nova and Lance headed into Nightopia to find out what ailed the newest Stage Master in Wonderworld (while Balan stayed behind to keep an eye on her).
