About
Jaikeb left his home when his brother betrayed him to take the throne as Atlantian King. He fled and got caught in a storm which nearly killed him. As his battered body sanks low into the sea a mysterious deepdweller caught him and fixed him up. Jaikeb learned many years ago he used to be part of the royal court, and now he lives quietly deep in the depths where nobody will bother him. After some persistence, Jaikeb is allowed to stay.

Personality
Jaikeb is an extremely guarded person. Having been betrayed and realizing he had been manipulated his whole childhood, he has learned to guard his thoughts and emotions to shut people out. Unfortunately for him, he is an extremely emotional person. He can't help but be passionate and dedicated to the things he sets his mind to. When he feels emotion it can easily overtake him, but it anger, sorrow, or joy.
Though his relationship with Vetris is built on hate and disgust, he genuinely loves him and cares deeply for his wellbeing. Over time, as he learns Vetris holds the same level of affection and protectiveness over him, he begins to open up. His truer side comes out once again and he is able to make peace with himself.

Appearance
As a man he has olive skin with dark brown curly hair. As a fish he has deep indigo hair. His skin is thick with pale blue coloring that fades into a deep blue. Indigo tuffs of hair also appear on his chest, elbows, shoulders, and legs. He wears a fuchsia bandana around his head and as well as a torn fuchsia sash around his waist. He wears nice but practical attire when sailing, and tight swimwear when in the water. In his beast form he wears little clothing, if any.
Name: Chimaera Thaster Relationship: Brother
Chimera was already the trained heir when Jaikeb was born. They were close in Jaikeb's youth, but when their father died, Chimera betrayed him. Their relationship was destroyed and both would gladly try to kill the other if they meet again.
Name: Vetris Relationship: Companion
Jaikeb is grateful to Vetris for saving his life, but their relationship is quite hateful. They constantly pester and inconvenience each other. That being said, they are very close.

Backstory
Jaikeb was the second (and last) born child to the Thaster family. His older brother, Chimaera, was already a few hundred years older than him. They were close, spending most of their time together in his youth. His childhood friend, Akki, was also always by his side. Chimaera vowed when he became king that Jaikeb would rule by his side. In their teens Akki and Jaikeb grew closer and fell in love. They were honored by the king and became a mated pair. Soon after his father fell ill. Soon after he passed, Chimaera took the throne and began to make changes to the kingdom. Jaikeb disagreed with these changes and his brother, going back on his word, had anyone loyal to Jacob executed. In the slaughter, Jaikeb took Akki and fled. In the escape, Akki became separated from him. He has since come to terms with the possibility Akki is dead, but some part of him hopes they are out there safe.
Jiakeb stayed in the remote estuary and cultivated the dying reef there, slowly adjusting to a quiet life alone. Sometime later a hurricane hit the coastline. While attempting to secure what he could he was swept through the jagged stones surrounding the estuary and pulled out to sea where he sank to the deep. There a strange creature from the deep found him and fixed him up, nursing him to health. Jacob learned this creature, Vetris, had been part of the royal court centuries previously. One day he had left without saying a word, leaving everything behind to live in the deep away from anyone who could bother him. Jaikeb listened to his stories and convinced Vetris to come with him to the island he took up residence in.
Present Day
Now that he is healed, he has returned to exploring the seas. He and Vetris venture out in search of anything interesting to harvest, take, or explore. They set up a base in the estuary where Jaikeb lives. Akki and Jaikeb reunite and they have their first child together. Vetris meets a strange being who claims to be from beyond the stars. Like is interesting, though pleasantly quiet. Still, Jaikeb fears his brother's hold on the upper levels of the ocean and what he might do to expand it.
