A Decepticon ever since the war started, Beacon was loyal and highly dependable. Despite his small size, he got the job done more often than not and barely scraped by being valuable to Megatron. If he had to say, he'd admit that he stuck around more out of fear than liking the job. Beacon doesn't let his small size get in the way, and is rather agile and fast in combat, a stern, cocky attitude following suit. His favorite moments of being a Decepticon was always fighting the other side, being quite the menace.

As Cybertron fell, Beacon watched as the majority of the Seekers fell to battle, each one leaving a small hole in his soul. With only his nagging commander, Starscream, left and Earth in sight, his attitude dulled a smidge. However, he found solace elsewhere; in a questionable medic on the Nemesis named Narcortic. The two had grown close over time and eventually fell in love. Beacon would fight his spark out and then return to the warship for Narcortic's attention, boasting away of his adventure.

With Starscream holding Fowler hostage, the Autobots evaded the warship, eventually causing even the solitary Narcortic to come out and defend the area. Unfortunately for him, he falls to the attack's power and dies, sending Beacon in a crazed frenzy. Upon seeing Megatron's return and reaction to what happened, Beacon notices who was at fault for his partner's death and berates Starscream. Witnessing not just Starscream's, but Megatron's carefree reaction to his upset complaints, Beacon loses his composure and quits, flying off from the base and into the emptiness of the Nevadean lands. Alone to cope with the grievances of both his fellow Seekers and his partner, he falls into a deep depression, hiding away and even going as far as to destroy his own T-COG to ensure he would never return to the war.

Sometime in the heat of the Earth fighting, Beacon was discovered by the Autobots, worn and tired. When the trio noticed that he couldn't even use his blasters, they easily captured him to bring in for questioning. However, they quickly realized that the mech was far too mentally exhausted to even care, and what he did know was little and unhelpful. Insistent on not being in the drama anymore, he insisted on being able to leave, but the Autobots were too wary, as he now had seen their base, and decided to hold him for some time. They gave him repairs and energon, but he avoided speaking or interacting whenever he could. Eventually, he found a friend in Arcee, easily bonding over their similar traumas.
