Ray

Ray is a gentle undead skeleton without a brain— literally and figuratively. When he was alive, he was a failure as a monk, and became a paladin. He fell in love with a necromancer, Yofiel, and they died together on the battlefield. Yofiel used her last spell to bring Ray back, though it didn’t take effect for many years, and he didn’t remember who he was when he woke up. He only knew that his appearance scared those around him. He hid his face in a seed sack and his hands in gardening gloves, giving himself the appearance of a lanky scarecrow.

Bit by bit he uncovered memories from his past— and finally remembered his love, Yofiel. She resides in purgatory on the moon. She is his moonbeam, he is her Ray of sunshine, and their meetings are as rare as the eclipse.

-He was named after Ray Bolger, the actor who played the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz movie
-His favorite flower is the dandelion! He relates to it because it is a weed, but has unappreciated beauty.
