- all tehyans are slightly fluffy instead of having smooth skin, feel free to stylize this how you want
- the various scars are from explosion shrapnel at the beginning of the fumi invasion. she covers these for a while with bandages, but can be drawn without the bandages if u want
- before the invasion, her hair was much shorter (ref)
the protagonist of funo-shika, koharu sets off on a quest of revenge after her partner, col, is killed in the initial fumi attack.
along the way, however, she finds equally deep friendships with her new companions, and must realize that sometimes it is more important to protect what she has now than to think of avenging the past.
while initially stand-offish, once she grows close to someone, she will protect them with her life.
before the invasion, she studied theology in the city of ebno and primarily concerned herself with academia. afterwards, she has found her talent for combat and martial arts.
born into a small village in the swamps of eb, koharu had the great misfortune of being both conceived and born on the two cursed days of her village's calendar. her mother died during the birth, leaving her to be raised by the village elders. as a twice cursed child, she was taught no trade or craft, and instead spent her time in the elders' library, trying to unravel the truth of the world.
after meeting a traveling scholar, she was offered a scholarship to the great university of ebno, where she was allowed to continue her research on the one-eyed god, a mysteriously consistent force in tehyan mythology across the globe. for the first time, she was able to make real friends, as no city folk believed in the village superstitions that proclaimed her cursed.
koharu begins to see some truth in those superstitions when the sky falls, though, and the fumi invasion begins. the aliens seem set on destroying all tehyans, and koharu can only watch as her partner, col, is killed by one of their remote bombs in the initial attack. despite her fate, or perhaps because of it, she manages to escape the city and travels with a group of other survivors who take refuge in a desert canyon.
there, she becomes close friends with sillon, quii, and emii, and is forced to realize that there is still good in the world. of course, it would be a real shame in one of them were revealed to be a fumi spy. and it would certainly be an even bigger shame if the one-eyed god she devoted so much of her life to had a key role in the sudden fumi invasion. an awful shame, really.

while she initially dislikes sillon for his constant insistence on talking to her, koharu has to admit that he does a remarkable job at keeping her mind off the events of the invasion, or at least transforming those thoughts into something productive.
koharu feels that it is her duty to protect him because of this, along with his impressive leadership skills that help maintain the last dregs of the tehyans.
perhaps under different circumstances, she would have liked to become even closer, but koharu had more important things (like revenge, obviously) to focus on right now. right?
the first one she warms up to at the camp, emii and her get along because they don't feel the need to speak out loud about unimportant things (like the past).
she appreciated his silent company, though she is the one he talks to the most. koharu knows sillon is a bit sad about this, but she figured that's an issue the two of them need to figure out on her own.
koharu trusts him with her life, though she would never tell him that. and even when his true role is revealed, she doesn't blame him; she should've figured it out sooner, and he was only doing his job
