Leah Luthor is the fourteen-year-old daughter of Lex Luthor and Circe

Personality

She will call someone out on their bs and then delicately explain why they were wrong to humiliate them. Enjoys rubbing it in people’s faces and destroying their reputation and self confidence, especially adults who think they know better than she does. “I can’t help it if you’re too stupid to follow along.”

Will cause strife among her peers for “social experiments,” purposefully pitting friends against each other to watch the fallout. Sees others more as test subjects rather than living, breathing people with emotions and needs.

Leah is very interested in the sciences, and possibly using magic with science. Hasn’t quite figured out what for yet, but she’s young. She has time.

Due to who her parents are, she dislikes their enemies as well. She’s more sneaky with her schemes than they are though, and will try to befriend her enemies (or catfish them) before blowing them out of the water. Prefers to outthink her rivals rather than outfight them. Will put them through mind games while keeping her distance, but she can fight if it comes down to it. Knows plenty of pressure points to take someone down, and is very concerned with studying the weaknesses of others before engaging them face to face. Tries not to rely too much on magic since there’s several heroes that can render that null.

Behaves like an adult, which is unnerving for most people.

Shows her love for her parents by doing things for them (“Father, I noticed that man was annoying you so I cut the brakes in his car <3”)

History

Being the daughter of one of the wealthiest and smartest men on the planet and a very powerful goddess doesn’t weigh too heavily on Leah’s shoulders. She knows she’s capable of balancing her day-to-day life and the plans her parents involve her in to get at their enemies and is methodical with how she approaches everything. She was kept something of a secret from the public while growing up, with only a select few people knowing of her existence before Luthor introduced his daughter to the world. Seeing that much of her past is shrouded in mystery, people are curious and do what they can to pry into her life. And Leah does what she can to make sure they don’t find out anything substantial, viewing it as a game.

She attends the same prep school as the Kent kids and flouts her family name in their faces to aggravate them, while also competing academically just to rub it in further. She has good reason to be confident in her abilities to keep them from pinning anything on her, so she doesn’t care about poking the bear, so to speak.

Leah has full access to LexCorp, from the facilities to its mountains of data. Employees treat her like the CEO, which they had to get used to at first when Luthor told them she was allowed to do anything.

She has been kidnapped (or there have been kidnapping attempts on her). She was taught at a young age to let people underestimate her so she can get the upper hand, so those who have tried to kidnap her usually wind up dead. A disgruntled LexCorp employee snatched her at one of the research facilities and threatened to kill her via a syringe of cyanide unless he was given several thousand dollars. Leah distracted him by talking to him and going into detail what her father would do to him if he caught him, then jammed the needle into the guy’s arm when she felt his resolve wavering.

Leah joined the Academic Decathlon team in her junior high, which is how she met Helena Wayne as they were both competing against each other. They hit it off as friends after repeatedly seeing each other as academic and social status enemies for a while. Leah was quick to befriend Helena after realizing she was prime friend material (and admittedly being a little lonely since she had no peers on her level to hang out with), and was more than happy to spend time doing everyday girl things with her. They both hid their alternate identities from each other until a run in when Helena was in her Batgirl guise and Leah was doing some suspicious things for her dad with his LexCorp “Young Heroes” program. Leah was frustrated that Helena found out but insisted that she wouldn’t let this cause their friendship to fall apart, continually trying to get Helena to “see her point of view.” Their friendship is still there in a sense, but they’re both wary of each other.

Young Heroes Program

Luthor enacts The Young Heroes Program that invites heroes to work under the guidance of LexCorp specialists and fringe heroes who the Justice League and other teams “rejected.” On the surface, it’s a program to help young metahumans learn how to use their powers more effectively. What is really going on behind the scenes is that those in charge of the YHP cells are creating metahuman heroes loyal to Luthor, so essentially he’s forming his own private army right under everyone’s noses. Some of them know what’s going on and only joined up so they could use their abilities (and commit some crimes) without repercussions, but most of them are naive and think they really are helping. Consequently, the former are the ones put in charge of the well-intentioned folks. They are in direct opposition with the Teen Titans and Young Justice, who view the YHP with obvious suspicion.

Leah is given charge of one of the more specialized cells to use as her lackeys for the crimes she commits, both to help her father gain important information and trade secrets, and for her own personal gains. She relishes the power and makes sure that the kids she’s in charge of know who the boss is, and they are made to look up to her and do whatever she tells them; the boys especially, seeing she can use her mother’s male-swaying abilities on them.

Abilities

Powers

  • Has a knack for magic (thanks, mom), but it’s very much “chaos” magic at the moment. She can’t completely control it on command, but it will come out full force when she’s experiencing intense emotions.
  • Can turn men into animals, shapeshift, transformation of inanimate objects into creatures, flight, decimating magic blasts.
  • Technically a savant. Hyper-intelligent and knows it (due to her father being one of the smartest men in the world).

Weaknesses

  • Can be subdued by more adept magic users/Homo Magi
  • Her own pride can get her into trouble and trip her up

Relationships

Family

  • Luthor will send her to interact with kids of known rivals and have her pretend to befriend them then gather information about their parents and secrets that they wouldn’t want brought to light. She isn’t exactly being ordered to do this per se: it’s more that she likes to screw with the heads of people she considers to be below her, and she likes seeing her own family come out on top.
  • Circe takes Leah for half of the week to train her in magic; no one really notices this since Circe has the ability to manipulate time, so she can pluck her daughter and take her somewhere via a portal then put her back without any time passing for everyone else.

Friends

  • Helena Wayne, a friend who “gets her,” they have a shared interest in forensics and technology and are both trying to convince each other to join their side after figuring out their alter egos

Enemies

  • Alexanda Kent/Supergirl
  • Conner Kent/Superboy
  • Superman
  • Wonder Woman
  • Helena Wayne, still a friend, but she’s very much a hero so it makes things complicated when they can’t see eye to eye with their moral alignments

Extras

  • Generally has red hair and green eyes like her father, but when using magic, eyes become red like her mother.
  • Might have swiped some kryptonite from her father’s cache. Keeps it on her in a lead-lined little box to use if she needs to.
  • Knows how to speak Ancient Greek from her mother.
  • Prefers to dress up nice, but in a practical manner instead of dressing up and looking extra.
  • Wears minimal makeup, enough to look natural. Is self-indulgent when it comes to nail polish though, preferring darker shades.
  • Technically related to the Kent kids (Alex and Jon) on her mother’s side, so there’s some bad blood between that side of the family
  • Uses the red amulet she wears as a focuser for her powers so that she can use it without her abilities becoming too much for her to handle. Accessorizes with it by using it as a brooch or putting it on a belt.
