Maia rarely lets anything kill her carefree mood, but she's got her own insecurities to deal with despite her hard-won success in life. She's been through too many careers and dealt with too much nonsense to not enjoy the life she lives now, so she takes it day by (blissful) day with her two husbands, Kaden and Gatsby. She's had the pleasure of doing a plethora of things for her community (from policewoman, to mayor, to council-member, and then community organizer) that she's taken a step back from her hyper-focused roles to focus more on her family in a way she hasn't in the past. She regrets not being more emotionally available to her two adopted children (Anais and Adrien) or to her husband's adopted child (Chai) while they were growing up, and now their relationship is more strained than she'd like, especially considering how outgoing she assumes herself to be.
⥥She's learning to make strides in her personal life, especially since she feels she's neglected it in years past in favor of her career. She's always been a bit self-conscious about her ability to connect with those around her, but her husbands are teaching her that it's never too late to learn something new. She's the co-leader of the Lightstone Coalition with Gatsby, and manages the logistical and outreach aspects of the growing association.
