Barberry is a simple guy who's gotten himself caught up with all the wrong people. He does everything in his power to keep himself out of trouble, but he's just not able to when he's surronded by a group of... misfits. As the most normal of his group, he's often sent forward as the negotiator. Negotiations will often start off rocky, but Barberry is usually able to win people over with a small heart to heart. Be it mob bosses, or violent beasts, Barberry tends to pull at the heart strings, making him able to empathize with most dragons.
His ablility to talk to almost anyone is a double edged sword, though. It's what got him caught up in the wrong crowd in the first place! Barberry has placed his affections in unearned places, and it causes him a great amount of conflict. He does his best to help the people he cares about, but it's only a matter of time before he realizes they're not looking for help.
Barberry and Feniseca's relationship has always been vauge, even at the best of times. Barberry is often left wondering why Feniseca keeps him around. That's not to say the two of them don't have any good moments, but those moments are often few and far between.
Probably the only person that Barberry genuinely dislikes. He believes that as long as King is around, Feniseca won't improve as a person. Usually when they two interact, Barberry is incredibly tense. He's still poliete, but it's pretty clear King isn't his favorite person.
Barberry has all but dropped trying to help Cicero, but keeps him around regardless. Barberry appriciates Cicero's honesty, and Cicero appriciates Barberry's naivety. That being said, Barberry has discoved that Cicero is incredibly protective of him, and now does his best to keep Cicero close. He feels a little safer around Cicero, in a strange way.
