personality depths
traits: The best word to use in order to describe Genesis is paranoid. He jumps at the lightest touch, the softest sound. His light sensitive eyes make it painful to move about during the day, not to mention his sensitive skin that is easily sunburnt, but his fading eyesight and years of abuse have left him afraid of the dark. Shadows haunt him, keep him awake at night. He'll go days without sleep which is major trigger for his epilepsy. Two days without sleep can trigger frightening seizures. He's afraid of water because of this reason, avoiding it because he knows that, should he have a seizure while in water, he will drown. He doesn't even like rain, will find a dry place to hide the second clouds start to form. He absolutely hates winter time and cold climates because his hair never grows in very thick and he's almost always cold except during the summer. He doesn't handle stress well. Or conflict. Or conversations.
mental health: Paranoia, depression, insomnia, hallucinations, delusions, epilepsy

history: Science can be a great thing... and it can also be pretty damn awful. That's how Genesis sees it. Formally known as Test Subject 481, Genesis was an experiment gone wrong in the eyes of most, but a blessing to others. It was these others that hurt him, but it was the first group that are really at fault. They had wanted to help bring back the Neapolitan Horse breed. They wanted to start a breeding program. There were five hundred mares impregnated. In total, only ten foals (with Genesis included) were born, and out of those ten only three survived. The three survivors were all born with problems but only Genesis was born an albino. That's when the first group got rid of him. They sent him off to an auction where he was found by another company and bought for a couple thousand dollars before being brought to a massive lab, much bigger than the one he had previously been at. He had only just been weaned.

These new humans gave him his name, Genesis. They had wanted to play God. They wanted to see what they could do to this foal, this child, wondering what they could get away with. Genesis had no registration papers. He could not be traced. No one would come looking for him. They all figured he would die within a few weeks, a few months, at most, but he proved to be stronger than originally thought.

The testing started almost immediately. One of the humans decided to test out electroshock therapy on him, mostly just for shits and giggles. She put up the levels much too high, nearly killing the foal the first time they tried it. He's had seizures ever since they started the treatments. They would put him on a treadmill and force him to run. They would make him swim until he couldn't move. They would leave him in the dark for days at a time just to see what would happen. Abuse was frequent. Food and water... not so much. They wanted to see how long he could go without nourishment without dying, and when they did feed him, it was "experimental" food that no horse would want to eat, but he did, anyway. He was often sick because of it.

The injections started when he was a yearling. They started with just one a day. And then, eventually, dozens of different ones every day. Some did nothing. Others... others were awful. They would give him headaches, send him into psychotic fits, trigger seizures and blackouts. This went on for two years, on top of everything else. How he didn't die, Genesis doesn't know. He figures it was probably due, ironically, to some of the injections they gave him. Or maybe he was just "lucky." He came close to death many times, and his body deteriorated quickly, leaving him with fading sight and hearing, light sensitive eyes, sensitive skin, and a very thin pelt.

Genesis isn't sure how his escape happened. The last memory he has is of some of the humans coming to get him from his stall. They looped a rope around his neck, his face too sensitive for a halter, and one of the other humans came with the syringes. He was calm. Exhausted. Just standing there as they were injected. And then, blackness. There are no memories. The next one he has is being out in the sun for the first time since the auction, body aching, blood splattered across his pelt. There were no humans. There were no labs. He was free.

He passed out soon after that, exhausted and terrified and confused. He managed to find a shady place before his body gave out, legs collapsing, his body sent into an epileptic fit. And that was how he arrived here in Wild Equines. By mistake, with no knowledge of there ever even being a world outside of humans in stark white lab coats. He had no knowledge of how to survive on his own, no clue about alliances and herds, had rarely ever spoken to another horse in his life.
