Alternate Future
A meek, shy and soft-spoken person without much of a presence usually. Due to a terrible childhood she was left traumatized and depressed. She doesn’t think highly of herself, nor thinks of herself as being capable of anything. Regardless of this, she is thoughtful and puts her heart into things, even if doing so hurts her. She sees no meaning in living most of the time. 

After meeting Byakuran, the thoughts of everything being meaningless are drowned out. He becomes the meaning of her life (through both his own manipulations and her fully embracing them and accepting the escapism). While still shy, she lets Byakuran set the pace. As time goes by however, she finds her way into becoming a little more assertive, and even dares to act spoiled on occasion, making demands while putting on a cute face.

Present
After the events that happened in the future, the Taryn of 10 years earlier was hit with memories of what had transpired with Byakuran, changing the course of her life and personality from then on. Knowing what she went through in that future made her anxious at first, and quite fearful of Byakuran, but after reconciling with him, she has the capability to work past her issues, anxieties and insecurities sooner than in the alternate timeline.

Story

Alternate Future 
From early on in life Taryn had no true aspirations, and while she had passions and hobbies, the constant mockery and dismissal that she dealt with left her a husk of a person. She had no will to live, as she couldn’t find any meaning to life at all. After years of toiling without an end in sight, the weight of it all became unbearable. She wanted out. While she’d had ideations in the past, it was now that she finally snapped. 

It was then, at the lowest point in her life, that an angel descended from on high to save her from ending it all. Byakuran, as he called himself, knew exactly what to say, and with his hand outstretched he asked her; 

"Why don't you come with me? I can help you live a life worth living... ~"

She accepted it, as she had nothing left to lose; And so started both the best time of her life, and the inevitable end of it.

She moved into Byakuran’s ‘estate’ with nothing but the clothes on her back, as he had promised her to provide her with everything she might want or need. While living in his estate she was kept isolated from everyone (with a few exceptions), as Byakuran wanted her all to himself. At first Taryn found herself bored when Byakuran had to be elsewhere, with nothing around her to really entertain her or keep her interest.

Regardless of this isolation, or maybe because of it, the two of them grew closer together, both emotionally and intimately (but especially intimately). While it was Byakuran who set this development in motion, it was Taryn who started pushing it more later on, finding a new side to herself that was less anxious and more assertive. 

However, things don’t stay nice and rosy. As Byakuran’s plans start to unravel, so does he, becoming more unhinged and unpredictable, and also more distant with Taryn. The combination of his unravelling with the fact Taryn has become fully dependent on him and clingy with him has the unfortunate result that, without fully meaning to, Byakuran kills Taryn when she tries to cling to him in the wrong place, at the wrong time. And so her life comes to an end in this timeline, at the hands of the man that she had given herself to. 

Present
The Taryn of the present inherits the memories of her future self, and she has to deal with the reality of her own death. While she had desired for it before, actually living through these strange memories of a possible future made her highly anxious and uncomfortable. 

It wasn’t that long after until this ‘Byakuran’ person reached out to her, divulging to her that their memories are indeed linked to something that happened in the future. She’s very apprehensive at first due to what happened, being isolated and then killed outweighed the good he did for her mental health at the time. Though, when Byakuran expresses his regrets and feelings of guilt about the way he treated her, and vows to do better for her this time, Taryn forgives him. So, they slowly but surely start building up the relationship they had in the future, this time without the isolation.

Sometime in the future, the two of them marry and have 2 beautiful children: Sumire and Suiren.
