Profile
Raiza
male . rava viera . bard & storyteller
"Secrets Behind Sunset Colored Eyes."
About
No story told by the young viera is ever a boring tale. Raiza has a knack for storytelling, giving a personal flair to every tale he tells, his chipper attitude and kind voice grabbing and holding the attention of whoever is willing to listen. He finds joy in the reactions he gets, his stories bringing smiles on faces that have previously shown nothing of the sort. As he travels, his tales spread across Eorzea and people talk about the young man with the sunset colored eyes and a nicked ear. Yet somehow, Raiza never tells his own story, dodging questions about himself or spinning a different tale everytime someone asks about the ear - the man himself remains a mystery.
Despite how incredibly kind and welcoming he is to friend and stranger alike, asking Raiza about his past usually brings a melancholic, if not a downright sad smile to his face. He is quick to dodge questions about himself with a witty joke or by segwaying into another story of his. As a bard, he enjoys singing and finds great joy in people joining him in doing so, but he also likes to write and draw.
Although he very clearly knows some magic and has likely been trained in the art of it at some point, Raiza tends to rely on physical strengths more than any magical aptitude. Despite how secretive he is, at the end of the day Raiza is a wonderful friend and a willing ear that listens to anyone.
Personality
Friendly
Raiza is friendly to a point. Unless someone is hostile towards him from the get go, the young viera will try to make friends with just about anyone and is prone to enter people's personal spaces unless explicitly told to back off.
Gentle
Raiza has a very gentle nature. He hardly ever raises his voice and isn't much of a complainer - rather, he's willing to listen to other people vent their worries to him and he always tries to offer some advice.
Neutral
Although he does occasionally sit down and play a song, it's never with the intention to draw a crowd. Despite how chipper he always seems to be, Raiza is very neutral about making decisions and/or putting himself out there.
Restrained
Those who know Raiza can tell that there's always a metaphorical line holding the young man back. He seems to have some sort of commitment issues and tends to say no to things or events that he would otherwise surely enjoy.
Dodgy
Raiza dodges any and all questions about himself like the plague. Despite his general attitude, some people have began to wonder if perhaps there is a criminal past behind the viera, or something else entirely.
Escapist
Raiza very clearly uses singing and storytelling as a way to escape reality. His stories are usually grand and epic tales that could in reality only happen to people about as powerful as the warrior of light.

Trivia
- Raiza is left handed - he wears an artist glove over his left hand (only his pinky and ring fingers are covered).
- The cartilage in his ears is very weak. Typically his ears droop just a tiny bit when in a relaxed state and when he is focused/excited and his ears spring up, they usually end up sort of flopping over one another.
- His hair is naturally multi-colored. It's also very soft and fluffy - it feels like petting a chinchilla's fur.
- The scarf around his neck was a gift. Raiza can hardly ever be seen without it and only ever takes it off to wash it or when he sleeps.
- Raiza is very, very afraid of deep water and especially running rivers. River crossings give him high anxiety and he usually ends up shaking like a leaf when he has to cross one.
- Despite how social he is, Raiza enjoys the peace and quiet of a forest and often slinks off to have a nap in the trees.
- He's very good with kids! He tends to get very goofy around them which children seem to love. When he tells stories to groups of children, he usually makes the protagonists of those stories children too.
Links
Robin
friend
Raiza and Robin met by chance during one of Raiza's travels, but have since become very close friends. Raiza's kind disposition and Robin's mischievous, near reckless personality somehow mesh well and the two always have a good time when hanging out.
Vidar
acquaintance
Raiza met Vidar in Old Sharlayan where he found the other viera sleeping on one of the benches during a snowfall - concerned for his safety, he woke him up and offered warmth. Both of them have their own share of secrets and as such find each other's company good - neither will pry.
Myna
friend
Raiza and Myna seem to go way back, but both of them simply shrug when asked about their history. Raiza sometimes can't quite keep up with how wild and free Myna is, but the two have a very friendly, almost sibling-like relationship.
