Mayfly

"Apollo walked around the gardens for what felt like an eternity, trying to find a place where he could read his scrolls in relative peace while also not butting into the already existing friend groups. Far in the corner, under a willow tree that dangled over a pond gracefully, stood the golden wish dragon he'd seen earlier in class. Looking around at his options in the crowded yard, Apollo shrugged and sauntered his way up to the intriguing dragon. He opened his mouth to introduce himself, but then stopped when he noticed the wish dragon subtly manipulating the water in the pond into beautiful, rhythmic swirls. She seemed aware of his presence and watchful eyes, but didnt stop or care what he thought."

Despite the name, Wish Dragons can't really grant wishes. However they are a very ancient race from far far away from any other dragon societies and settlements. Wish dragons are wonderful crafters, producing some of the nicest silk, spices and furnishings in the world. Mayfly like so many others is taught to appreciate the world around her, down to every kind of fauna and flora. She likes to express her teachings through calligraphy, meditation and ink painting. She is religious, and believes that there is a spirit of a dragon in almost everything in the world, from an ancient tree to an ivory statue made eons ago. Mayfly is sent to the Dragonic Academy with a few other young wish dragons in order to see the world, meet new people and even teach people their ways if asked. She is very mature and can act a bit like a motherly figure to her friends, her warm gold scales feeling inviting to everyone. She is positive, perhaps too positive to a fault. She would turn a blind eye to something that doesn't fit her beliefs. She takes things slow and casual and sometimes won't speak until spoken to first, too lost in her mind. Sometimes her slow and thoughtful way of speaking can annoy fast paced and hot headed dragons like Sol.

Wish dragons have an affinity with water. When they're young they can summon a small amount of water (about a cup's worth) once a day into the palm of their hands. When they reach a certain age, they can also summon rain storms. Wish dragons can also fly without the need of wings through magic.
Mayfly was gifted armour from her trainers and mentors in the Ivory Empire which gives her the ability to summon and control lightning (when paired with the natural ability to summon storms).
