Custom made sword (to be named later). Specially made to be used in conjunction with certain types of Magix. Works well on its own, but even better when effects are applied. Use of Lightning magix - electricity in the blade reacts with its components, causing vibrations on a molecular level that allow it to move faster and cut more precisely. Use of Fire magix - heat is channeled into a specific part of the blade, superheating the air into a plasma at its edge. Use of Light reacts to pigments on the blade's surface that light up incredibly bright, making the sword hard to focus on in one-on-one fights. Made out of super dense material to resist breaking even when used in conjunction with physical magix. He had this specially made for himself, as fancy swords don't seem like a common thing. Distraction device - anyone within 10m of the user with a working NUIP will receive an incredibly loud, high pitched noise that can be hard to concentrate. Lasts 30 seconds max, user can block specific individuals from being affected but doing this for anyone but the user takes extra prep time. NUIP dampener - temporarily blocks all but most vital NUIP functions from the network. Incoming messages, transactions, etc cannot be used but vitals monitoring and location are still sent out. Max use 30 mins, 3 hours reset time. Handheld/small device, location it affects can be customized anywhere from 2m (basically just the user +1) to 10m radius area. Tracking device. Small and discreet device to attach on something he wants tracked. Signal strength on device lasts for one hour before needing to be recovered. Carries only one, feeds back directly to his NUIP interface. Signal can reach 2km (1 1/4 miles) before cutting out. Magix preferences: Ice, Physical, Light and Lightning as primarily used types, has been known to use others. Generally uses their effects to support main fighting style rather than as the focus.
Profile
Personality: Stubborn, cold, and committed to finishing all tasks he starts. Takes duty/responsibility way too seriously. Doesn't understand this whole 'interacting with other people' and 'making friends' thing but generally comes off more like an asshole than he does as someone awkward. When he gets angry it's cold anger. Possessive about the things he /does/ feel entitled to - or people. Has no idea how to actually deal with own problems. Workaholic. You're not worth his time, don't get in his way.
Background: Born from a long line of family that has been heavily involved in Secret Police matters and has always been in the Upper Class, Matiko was born to a life of privilege and high expectations. It was only natural for him to follow in the footsteps of his father and those before him, to join the Secret Police and help keep down those unwilling to conform to society, those undeserving of the comforts and securities of the Upper Class. He is very similar to his father - cold and quiet and although not uncaring, distant and troubled when it comes to expressing emotion. His mother, a woman he barely knew, died when he was only five years old. She herself was from the Lower class, refusing to test up as she was happy in what she did and the people around her, but deeply cared for Matiko's father. Her lessons left on Matiko about empathy and putting others first are mostly buried under the years of arrogance that came afterwards, but they're not forgotten.
His family has, as long as he can remember, owned a chain of small businesses spread throughout the middle and lower classes. The businesses are technical in nature - generally repair and upkeep of technology and weaponry, but he has little interest in what they do or who owns them short of making sure that they bring money in. His father passed the responsibility of it onto Matko when he was 20, afterwards pouring himself instead into work with the secret police.
While his father works more internally, on information categorizing and capture, Matiko himself is concerned with duties that involve searching out and killing trouble makers. He has no qualms about getting his hands dirty and is convinced that those he hunts for absolutely deserve the death that he brings. They had decided their own fate, is his reasoning; he firmly believes that he deserves what he has, and that they deserve what they have, and that there are no flaws with the current system of government. If anyone wanted to move up a class, they should just try harder.
