Summary
Nullae is a 9 tailed kitsune who is never seen without their mask, which they use to hide their face and expression. They are likely thousands of years old, because of their status as a full fledged nine tailed fox with hints of gold fur.
Due to the amounts of illusion magic used and shapeshifting done throughout the years, they've lost who they truly are. Since they've lived several centuries long, they have huge memory gaps and forgot most of their early life or anything remotely related to who they used to be.
Because of this, combined with the no sense of self, they have no sense of identity and are traveling the world trying to find themselves.
Nullae doesn't really have a preference in used pronouns since they have no attachment to any gender whatsoever. They simply prefer they/them for simplicity sake.
An accessory they are never seen without aside from their mask, is their gem. This is their Star ball, which holds a kitsune's life force and power. Nullae's starball is blue and often glows, leaving a trail.
When in anthro form, it often appears as a broach used to decorate various outfits. This is done so it doesn't stand out too much. In feral form, it appears in it's true form, a gem, and floats above their tails.
Personality
Personality wise, Nullae is mostly a mystery to anyone, even themselves. They appear distant and secretive, hiding themselves and their emotions from the world around them. Their mask is useful in this, as it allows them to hide more easily. Over the years, their trust in others has eradicated, so they prefer to keep to themselves most of the time, watching others from the shadows.
Being a kitsune means that they have a different set of morals so this allows them to mess with others quite a bit, especially with Nullae being so distrustful. They most often use illusion magic to trick others into a wide array of situations. They also enjoy telling stories to get people to believe them. Anything to trick others. It's one of their few sources of amusement.
An irrational fear they have is dogs. Dogs can detect their status as a shapeshifting kitsune. When confronted with one, their disguise - if using any - will break instantly, they will automatically shift to a feral cross fox and run. It will take a while for them to calm down and regain any shapeshifting powers and magic.

- While nullae is a kitsune, they also take inspiration from fox lore from other countries (i.e: able to create northern lights)
- Upon turning a thousand years old, the fur of a kitsune becomes gold or silver. In Nullae's case, their orange cross fox markings became gold
- Nullae is a name they gave themselves after the loss of their identity and the memory gaps as a result of illusion magic usage and living for so long. They feel they are "null", nothing, empty.
- Nullae is a personal character meant for personal writing and art of private nature. As such, please be careful with what setting they are put in.
Shapeshifting
Nullae has two personas, who both have an anthro and human form. These are just personas/figurative masks used to interact with the world. Nullae can even appear as both at the same time, but this requires a lot of concentration and is not often done. Nullae also has a feral form they use to get around easy.
Nulla
[ female form - she/her ] Extremely caring, empathetic and overal a good listener. Nulla prefers to listen to others talk, and where she can, help them. Nulla tries to retain an image of elegance and lady-like behavior most of the time and is extremely polite. She is, however, rather playful and still enjoys being mischievous, she is just a lot more careful not to be noticed.

[ male form - he/him ] Is very protective of those he cares about, but is closed off and stoic. Nullum is generally very to the point, direct and functional in how he approaches things. Very proud, values honor, competitive, and likes taking risks.
