The Denroxilus

16'5" | Ancient | Heavy | ???

Personality:

Intelligent - Sadistic - Territorial - Viscous

The Denroxilus is a merciless creature who will kill anyone that dares step on its ground. It's also incredibly sadistic, picking off members of a group one by one and even tormenting the remaining victims by mimicking the voices of those it already claimed. While it can be outrun due to its bulky nature, It is rather smart and can set traps for its victims. All and all, a dangerous force to reckon with.

Origin:

Like many ancient creatures that roam Toledo, The Denroxilus's origin is not exactly clear. Rumor has it that the creature once ruled over coastal Ohio, the native tribes offering it sacrifices to keep it appeased and calm. However, as time went on, the land was soon built on, its idols were destroyed, weakening it until one statue to it remained, which became the centerpiece of a hotel. All was well, at first, but soon the Denroxilus grew restless. Having eaten no new souls, it began harassing and attacking residents, even killing a few successfully. Soon, a police squad was sent to deal with it, and from there it got to rear its ugly head, Killing some and putting most into comas as it sapped their souls...

All except one: Officer Reagan Barnes.

It's unclear why it did not kill Reagan. Did it sense something in him that made it hesitant on hurting him? Or did it, out of the blue decide to spare one person? Whatever the reason, the cop fled the scene in fear, reporting to his higher ups that the mission was a failure, and paramedics came to collect the bodies left behind. For now, it reigns a now-abandoned hotel, killing those who venture too close...

Abilities:

  • For one, it seems to have the power to take the soul of someone, This is usually considered food for it, as it's been depraved of normal food for so long it can't consistently feed on it.
