Edwin Wormwood is a young adult harpy demon and a member of the Bard Coven. They live in Bonesborough with their partner Alister.

Edwin is a biped demon, appearing more like a witch than an animal or beast. Overall, their stance and features are witch-like, though their antennae, wings, feathers, and tail define their appearance as a harpy. Their skin is pale and their back, lower body, legs, tail, and the dorsal sides of their arms are entirely covered in dark brown feathers. As a part of their arms, they have a large pair of brown feathered wings. Their legs are feathered down to their ankles, where their talon-like feet with only three toes each are softly scaled like a bird's instead. On their hands they also have long, dark claws. Their tail is long and whip-like with a plumed light brown tail tip. In a similar fashion as their lighter feathers on their wings and tail, their hair is a medium dark brown. From within their hair they have a pair of short feathered antennae atop their head. Much like any other witch, their ears are pointed, and they often wear a pair of gold hanging earrings from them. Their eyes are a bright yellow with dark sclerae, and due to nearsightedness, they always wear a pair of prescription glasses (with red-tinted lenses as an aesthetic choice). They are most often seen wearing their Bard uniform, consisting of a red and brown tunic with yellow trim. As a sign of their membership of the Bard Coven, they have a Bard Coven sigil on the underside of their right wrist.

Design Notes

• Don't forget their Bard Coven sigil on the underside of their right wrist!
• Their glasses are prescription (they're nearsighted).
• They have only three toes on each foot.
• Their arms and their wings are the same set of limbs. The skin on their arms only shows on the ventral sides; the dorsal sides are covered in feathers.
• Not really fond of pants since they restrict their movement, but will wear them when needed. They've got enough feathers so it's okay lmao

Edwin is chaotic, naïve, and a big nerd. With few exceptions, she prefers to stick to herself and rely on no-one else. Though she is quite skilled with her magic, she tends to be a loose cannon due to her act-first way of thinking and her incompetence in communication and teamwork. She has a strong love for music and art forms of many other kinds. In her practice of magic, she is often quite theatrical, going to great lengths to show off the very best of her abilities.

As a child, Edwin attended Hexside School of Magic and Demonics in her study of magic. Though she at first chose to study in the Illusion Track, she switched into the Bard Track not long after beginning her studies and remained in it until her graduation. Presently, she feels some regret for having switched tracks despite being content in the Bard Coven. Overall, she wishes it were possible to branch out and study more kinds of magic, and in recent years has grown a disliking for Emperor Belos and the coven system in general.

• Musical Ability: Edwin can proficiently play a small variety of musical instruments, including the flute, violin, and harp.

Natural Abilities

• Magic: Like all other witches and biped demons, Edwin is able to use magic natively due to the magic bile sac attached to their heart.

Learned Abilities

• Bard Magic: As a member of the Bard Coven, Edwin's magic abilities are limited to those which it encompasses. They are able to cast a wide range of spells using music, including by playing an instrument or by singing/whistling.

Alister Wormwood

Alister is Edwin's partner. The two have known each other since they were young and attended Hexside together and currently live together in Bonesborough. Though they are both individually somewhat reserved, they have helped each other come out of their shells and are more confident together.

Apollo

Apollo is Edwin's Palisman who they carved themself during their time at Hexside. Edwin does not often go anywhere without him.
