Introduction

Not many people would've expected the terrifying monster from the war (or the brave martyr, of depending on which side youre on), to end up reborn into such a strange creature like Clockwork. But yet, he had somehow exceeded his predecessors legacy, not only managing to slay two visionaries in his lifetime, but also ending up as one of the most respected members of the resistance.

Most would generally describe Clockwork as just an emotionless nerd, obsessed with tinkering strange gadgets. But not many truly knew the fierce searching for justice and truth, or deep layers of guilt and self hatred, all buried deep within him.

He is also a very inquisitive dragon, often found sitting in a corner for hours observing random things and taking notes. He enjoys being challenged in his knowledge and utilizes them to craft new inventions.

Spoilers ahead for most of the lore idk, also slight content warning for abuse, mental health and death. This gave me second hand embarrassment to read so like sorry if it makes u cringe lol

PRE-CREATOR LIFE

Before Clockwork was reborn, he lived as a dragon named Thaddeus, successor to an creator named Castell. The duo had lived happily in the Technology District, forming a small business in finding and selling antique mixtapes.

When the visionaries of Fantasy District had risen to take over their region, he and Castell served as the leaders of the Resistance. Alongside Sora and Freya, sucessors of his ally and enemy, he was able to help take down the leader of the Visionaries. However in the fight, Castell was fatally injured, causing Thaddeus to be ascended and reborn, alongside Sora and Freya. The war was lost and the district was fully taken over.

CHILDHOOD

In fear of the reborn souls coming back to restart the war, the Visionaries agreed to adopt and raise them under close monitoring. Thaddeus, now named Clockwork, was raised alongside his reborn siblings, Nesse (Sora) and Neffley (Freya).Temuru, one of the leaders of the new council, was assigned to be their caretaker.

Most of his early life was spent in comfort and hapiness. Clockwork developed the strongest bond with Temuru and she shared stories of her past, inpsiring him to learn from the world around him. He was also very close with Neffley, often hanging out together and causing mischief around the palace.

All too soon, his life turned upside down when one of his gadgets suddenly exploded. Temuru managed to reach him and shielded him from the blast, but was killed herself. Clockwork took all the blame for the incident and was heavily ostracized by everyone, including Neffley, who disowned him. It changed him completely as he became severely depressed, wracked with grief and guilt for his mother's death.

A HAPPY THING IN HIS LIFE FINALLY?

For many years, Clockwork lived under the scrutiny of the palace dwellers. To keep him productive, the council assigned him to work in the labratory as a helper, conducting experiments on resistance prisoners. Hhis resentment of the Visionaries started to grow after witnessing their cruelty, especially towards Ophanim, the leader of the council. A slight nudge from a mysterious servant prompted him to begin secretly researching about the war.

After contenplating for a while, he decided that he would escape and try to find the resistance. He presents his findings to his estranged siblings, and to his surprise they agreed to come along with him, citing their own suspicions as well. Together, they managed to find a way to sneak away from the palace. Through their journey, the bonds finally start to mend as they worked together, unraveling their past grievances.

When they finally found the resistance and was accepted in, Clockwork promised to ally and train with them. It was the first time in forever that he felt like he belonged somewhere, and his skills improved greatly under their encouragement.

NOPE THERE IS ONLY ANGST

After spending a few days in the base, he and his siblings decided to explore the nearby ruins for resources. Unexpectedly, they were ambushed during the night by Visionary forces. Clockwork tried to escape by carrying Neffley with him and flying off, but an arrow struck his wing and he dropped her in the process. He tried to go after her, but was overpowered by the forces and captured.

Back at the palace, Clockwork was brought before the council. Nesse guiltily reveals herself as a traitor, having told them his plan from the start, and it was all a ploy to reveal the resistance's location. Devestated and furious, he almost broke free and attacked her, but was promptly subdued. The councils sentenced him to be imprisoned and "rehabilitated" for treason, and arranged an attack to wipe out the resistance for good.

The visionaries have a field day tormenting and torturing him as part of his "rehabilitation", to the point of severe trauma. He was also subjected to the same fate as other resistance prisoners, being experimented on with a crystal serum that can regenerate new limbs. Understandably, this fucked up his mental state severely, and he is haunted by hallucinations of Neffley,Temuru and resistance members, berating him for how he failed them.

KARMA IS HERE MUAHAHA

A few weeks of torment later, he was brought out for a most likely execution, as the first test subject for a new weapon. Unexpectedly, the palace was suddenly invaded by an army of soulhunters. Clockwork was freed, the leader of the pack reveals herself as Neffley. The duo agreed to free all the prisoners and finish the visionaries once and for all.

Together, they both managed to defeat most of the other council members. A furious Ophanim attacks him, siphoning his soul to charge her power. This backfired onto her as Clockwork was able to use his ability to mind control her, and he made her stab herself with a spear. Nesse witnessing all this, swore vengeance at the two.

AFTERMATH

Thanks to the assistance of Neffley, the resistance was able to relocate before the attack. Clockwork was welcomed back as a hero for slaying their biggest enemy. While he recovers physically, he puts his skills to good use, working as a toolsmith for gadgets and weapons. He also becomes close friends with the resistance leader, who helps him recover mentally. Despite so, there was still many to be done, and he worries for whats about to come to his new allies.

The relationship slowly repairs as the trio went on their journey, where they began to open up to each other again. Post visionary attack, their alliance made their bond stronger than ever and they mentally support each other.
MOTHER
TEMURU

Caretaker to Clockwork. He saw her as a fun and caring mother figure, and in hindsight, the only one who didnt judge him for who he was. She was also his biggest role model, inspiring him to always learn and grow.

Her death devestated him to the core, crushing him into a spiral of self hate and depression. Though he would find out later that he was framed for that incident, he still doesnt forgive himself and misses her dearly.

GUARDIANS
VISIONARIES

The leading council of Creatorverse and Clockwork's guardians. Since young, Clockwork was always the least favourite, and it only became worse after the incident. He grew resentful and skeptical of them, and was the first to rebel.

Amongst the group, he was assigned to work with the head scientist Xerox as they shared interest in science. However, this backfired horribly as he was pretty abusive. He also deeply resents the leader, Ophanim, for her cruelty and arrogance.
