Dogmeat

Dogmeat is often regarded as a leech on society. He’s mangy, dirty, physically aggressive when threatened, and quick to snap at others who he thinks are out to get him. He doesn’t speak much at all, but it’s more so that he never gets the chance to, rather than not possessing the ability. He’s barely literate, and writes in a big, childish scrawl in all caps, usually only ever to write his own name- “DOGMEAT”.

He’s loyal to a fault, though these days he‘s got nobody to be loyal to. Raised by a pack of junkyard dogs, and by extension their aging owner, the scrapyard was all Dogmeat ever knew for a long time. After the death of the junkyard owner, the place was foreclosed, leaving Dogmeat out on the streets by age 12. He’s lived a tumultuous life, but despite it all, he’s still sweet. His nicer side is rarely seen, thanks to his immense distrust of humans and his general repulsive aura, so it’s reserved mostly for the stray dogs he meets.

Dogmeat is exhausted to his bones, and world weary. He finds it hard to trust anything these days, and he’s always waiting for things to be ripped out from under him, just like the scrapyard was. He’s suspicious of others, and of anything given to him for free, so he‘s made a living by stealing, mostly. He’s unfortunately easy to sway, so if you’re ever looking to gain his favor, treating him to a couple hot meals is a sure fire way to get him to start following you around like a lost dog.
