He was switched at birth with a human child. Three adventurers undertook a quest to recover the parents' real baby, and when they returned with it, the parents wanted nothing to do with the false child.
The adventurers took Jareth, intending to find a new home for him, but grew attached and ended up raising him as their own.
Adventurers- a Goliath, a half-orc and a goblinoid centaur. He calls them his aunties. When he neared adulthood, he started going on adventures with them.
He and Xylas eventually become a couple
Jareth is a small and wiry humanoid, with purple-grey skin and large, batlike ears. He has black hair and always wears a knit cap one of his aunties knitted him. He likes knitting. He has dyslexia and struggles with reading. He can digest anything made of natural fibers, can (and does) straight-up eat yarn as a tasty snack.
