Siegfried grew up an orphan and didn't really have much in the way of parental support or validation which makes him pretty desperate for attention. Because of this he wants to become a "hero" (or at least famous to some degree) and decides to become a soldier to achieve this. Its got a rebellious spirit though so it quits early on in its career. But he did grow close with his drill instructor, who taught him almost everything he knows about fighting and was almost like a mother figure to him. Now ventures out doing mercenary work in hopes of making a name for itself. Cocky, brash, and rude, Siegfried is rough around the edges but ultimately means well. Generally an upbeat and high tempo individual he has some rather morbid beliefs as times, like being convinced that he has to die "like a warrior"so that he can be accepted into valhalla upon his death, and being convinced he can feel and sometimes see the lingering souls of the dead, and that they're all only still kicking around on the mortal plane because they're chained down by their own negative emotions. Half his face is prosthetic due to an injury sustained on his first real battle.

A child at heart Siegfried isn't the type to think too deeply on things, especially if they're complicated and mostly just acts on whatever insticts he feels are right at the moment. He's obnoxious and annoying, but warms up to people quickly due to his extroverted nature even if they don't appreciate him. Can have a hard time admitting this though, especially to more aloof or prickly individuals because he fears rejection on some level. The type to only mellow out once they hit their 30's.

Despite owning a fancy metalmark.......He's kind of broke so he uses bogstandard GMS weaponry instead of the more flashy systems and weapons associated with the frame. Even so, his skills as a pilot are hard to match and one can usually see he's got the bite to back up his bark.

Thoughts on my other lancer pilots

Astrid: Probably develops a sort of puppy love type crush on her. She's small, nice, and cute so he feels like he ought to protect her. He admires the way she fights for what she thinks is right and is tempted to follow after her but is too much of a free spirit to join union.

Jack: Thinks jacks a total asshole and wants to fight him. The guy goes around killing and stealing remorselessly so its the good guys job to take people like that down right? Siegfried would get pretty invested in apprehending jack or killing him if it came down to it

Elias: He thinks elias is pretty, charming, and smart to the point he's kind of intimidated just being around the guy. Elias makes him feel inferior which just makes Siegfried try harder to show off and play it cool around him. Secretly views the guy as some kind of rival.

Priya: priya scares siegfried beyond belief. Siegfried might not know a lot about love but love's not supposed to send you into berserker rages out on the battlefield right??? He doesn't really care for how openly she pities him, it feels condescending. Rolls with what she says sometimes though because he's scared of ending up on her bad side.
