Linus is not a "take action" kind of man and never really has been. He's much more of a- well, he doesn't like the term "tattle tell", but it's pretty accurate in all honesty. He reports what needs to be done and lets other people get it done.
That is, right up until he started to notice some of the more interesting foster kid files disappearing from the system before his very eyes. No one else seemed to believe him or care, so he decided- fine. He'd look into this one himself.
Long story short, the magical children that were "disappearing" were actually in the wonderful care of Arthur, a foster parent who is incredibly wholesome and protective. And Linus' new boyfriend.
He's never been happier than he is now, in the middle of some magical woods with the love of his life and a new found family of mysterious and amazing kids.
Trivia
Despite what some people think, he actually CAN "let loose" and hang up his tie and have fun every now and then. He just... generally prefers to do it when he doesn't have an audience. Somehow he is an excellent baker but a terrible cook. He's just a little bit ditzy, which is why he likes to take lots of notes all the time; so he doesn't forget something important.- Dancing (he's embarrassed to admit)
