Gendras have different types, and certain ones are stronger against others. This is important to know for fights. They can also have multiple types.
Insect: More air/plant-based magic.
Leaf: Usually pretty calm temperament, very plant-based magic.
Pond: More aquatic with water-based magic.
Autumn: Somewhat fiery, with fire-based magic.
Flower: Elegant, these Gendras can be more delicate but with powerful magic.
Insect -> Leaf -> Pond -> Autumn -> Flower
There are multiple different kinds of classes of Gendras, and some can be multiple. These classes refer to what kind of use is most common, in addition to (or sometimes instead of) fighting.
Mount: They are large enough to be ridden, and can be trained for riding.
Fighter: While most Gendras can fight, these are highly specialized in fighting and are often more powerful than others.
Companion: Usually smaller Gendras, help with smaller tasks or are just great pets.
Worker: Gendras that are good at specialized work, such as in farming and agriculture.
Different species vary in rarity, and it often correlates with strength, but not always. More rare species are harder to find, and sometimes more difficult to catch.

Gendras evolve from egg, larvae, nymph, and adult forms. Some don't have a nymph form at all, and go straight from egg to nymph. [Think kinda like the difference between incomplete and complete metamorphosis]. Different species lay different sizes and numbers of eggs, however they are often extremely small. To evolve, they need to eat a certain type of plant (depending on their type) when their body is ready. The evolution is relatively instantaneous, and their power and abilities increase. They don't eat this plant throughout their lifetime, only during evolution. These plants are rare and sometimes the Gendras can't eat it right away and stays in a lower stage of evolution for longer.
Some Gendras are easier to train than others, and they also can have a different common temperament. They form a bond with their owners, and stronger bonds makes for stronger and more loyal fighters.
