Personality: 

A shy little nerd, Deznel doesn't often approach people for anything, even if he needs help with something. He's soft spoken, and prefers listening to people over talking himself, but will answer questions honestly when asked; sometimes brutally so. A lack of self confidence in anything other than his intelligence keeps him from trying new things, leaving him to prefer staying inside or sticking to things he knows well.

He is highly independent, cooking for himself and keeping things organized. Even alphabetizing his own bookshelves at home and dusting them everyday. The books are his one true love, preferring them over actual people who like to taunt and tease him. One of the few ways to see him get upset is when people bring books back damaged or written on, though even then it shows through as more passive aggressiveness.

History:

Since he was little, Deznel has always been surrounded by books since as far back as he can remember. His parents were often away, leaving home alone even as a kid, but he never felt lonely as long as he had something to read. He even had three older and younger siblings, though was more interested in staying away and hiding in small spaces to read by himself. It was his oldest brother, Ren who taught him to read, taking him to quiet places outside and teaching him until he was able to read to Ren instead. They were one of his lazier siblings, but seemed to have a soft spot for their quiet little brother. His parents still returned every night, but hardly ever seemed to have time for the child between the others. Pushing away the books he tried to share, or get them to read to him, he soon came to the conclusion that he was being bothersome and kept more to himself. Daring rescues, narrow escapes, romantic elopes, since he first learned to read, these adventures had made up his early world until he started picking up more complicated books on the thoughts of science and medicine in his teenage years. Branching out to pick up all sorts of books, no matter the subject, he tried talking to a few people about both the fantasy and theories, but after getting a lot of blank or weirded out stares he's stopped trying all together.

He was able to open his own small bookstore with the ones he had gathered as he got older. It always saddened him when his favorites sold, but he also enjoyed trading and buying new ones to restock. It was a nice, quiet, peaceful life. He was happy with the small amount of people he got to see, and often slept in the store with one of the books on his face.
