Profile

Name: Cain Walace

Age: 25

Race: Half Elf

Gender: Male

Height: 5'11"

Sexuality: Yes

Personality:

A devious young man, Cain sticks to the shadows even when he's in disguise. He has a bad habit of walking around stuffing small items in his pockets and pick-pocketing. His love of cracking jokes and joining in on any fun times leaves him from most suspicion as he's just an all around happy guy. It wouldn't even be strange for him to stop to help someone in trouble or fetch a toy that was stuck in a tree, having a heart of gold. Though a sinful heart, as he likes to tease his friends and make playful passes. He'll never take it too far unless he really is crushing though, and stop if he knows they're uncomfortable with it.

History:

Being born into a prestigious human family, Cain was the bastard offspring from the head of the family's daughter, but greatly loved by both his mother and grandfather. His first few years were passed in luxury, not wanting for anything though he had the world at his fingertips. He was simply happy to cling to his mother's skirt and giggle at any of his grandpa's jokes, no matter how bad they were. The staff loved the shy boy, especially when he started to get older and come out of his shell, starting to trail behind others and learn how to help with chores. They were all games to him though, like running around with a broom, attacking the 'killer death particles of Dustopolis.

While still a teenager, his Grandfather caught ill all of a sudden and passed away, leaving the young Cain as the next heir once he came of proper age. This didn't go well with the rest of the family, especially his Aunt who's son, Thomas, had always been thought to be the next heir for being older and a full blooded human. He had never showed much interest in the family however, only making visits to the main house when he wasn't busy partying or hanging out with his own friends, finding the gatherings a bore and the bad jokes lame.

The moment he even started paying attention was when it was said Cain would be the next heir and inheriting their grandfather's entire fortune along with the house to run. Driven by greed, Thomas worked with his aunt and friends to kidnap the small Cain and leave him stranded at the outskirts of town in the slums, yelling that if he ever came home again they would go after his mother next.

Scared and alone, Cain had never knew the terrors of the outside world, born, raised and even home schooled in the household. A little luck was on his side at least as someone else had seen and approached him after the coast was clear. While Cain was still scared, just meeting anyone he clung too and cried for a long time, but the other street urchin comforted him and told him it was going to be okay. Whether it was out of curiosity or outright pity, Cain didn't care, he followed the other child and learned how to survive and thrive in the lower part of town. He was scared to return home, fearing what his cousin and aunt might do to keep him away or told the rest of the family.. what they told his mother.. As much as he missed her, he didn't want to take the risk of her getting hurt.

It was a few more years, the day of his 18th birthday that he decided it was time for his grand return. Wishing his best friend, and secret crush farewell, he promised to see him again before heading back to the other side of town. Not knowing it would be a far longer wait than planned. It was surprisingly easy walking up to the gate, even getting over it, trying to get further inside was the hard part. His plan was to find his way to the main house, simply wanting to get to his mother and let her know he was alive. He almost made it to the main house without getting seen with all he learned on the streets, but was caught by his aunt of all people. She was hardly recognizable garnished in jewels and silk clothing. As soon as she saw him, she pulled out a knife from those lively silken sleeves and slashed at him, screeching for the guards when he easily disarmed and took the weapon. No matter what Cain said, or argued that he was just there to talk, no one would listen. The pair had taken over and changed the whole staff, even the other family members had all been moved into the main house to keep an eye on them, told it was for their safety.

He got his wish to be brought to the main house, but much to his surprise it was his aunt who took the head seat, with Thomas enjoying quite a feast on the side, he had gained more than a few pounds. His aunt just smiled at him slowly, asking why he had returned and why she shouldn't just have him gagged and bagged. "I just want to see my mother, please, that's all." the woman blinked and laughed at her, gesturing to a servant to bring his mother in. She was much more petite than he remembered, but as soon as he saw her, Cain went to embrace his mother, stopped by a guard who pushed him roughly to the ground. Rightfully shocked, his Mother snapped out of her own shock to rush towards him, easily held back and brought to kneel before his aunt. "I warned you what would happen if you returned." she grinned sadistically, taking the confiscated knife back to play with as she approached.

"W-Wait! I don't care about being the head! I'll leave again, I'll never return, please, just don't hurt her!" She gave him an interested look and walked over to Cain instead, humming, "But you could go to authorities, claim your 'rightful' inheritance. I have another idea. How about you stay here instead, and take the punishment instead!" pulling back her arm, he watched in horror as she brought the knife down to slash into his eye. A clean, but deep stroke that had him reeling in pain.

Treated at the house, he was basically confined and locked up in the main house, kept under strict watch with only half his sight and a scar left. But.. he did have his mother who was either sent or came on her own to care for him, he was never able to tell which even when he tried to ask. Almost eight years passed with Cain continuing to attempt his escapes but getting no closer until eventually he found himself in cuffs. It was a shock as he kept trying to ask what he had done and simply got read his rights. Quieting down, he was placed in front of someone who looked familiar but he couldn't quite place until he looked at the badge, finding it to be the one that had saved him in the slums. Confused, they explained that he was being charged with the murder of Thomas Walace, which was news to him. After trying to convince the man he had no idea his cousin had even died, he managed to escape with their help and went on the run.
