Polyglotism

One of Hasan's gifts is his ability to understand / speak most languages from the region he is from. This allows him to be able to communicate with many people. The only drawback is that he can't speak to animals, so not quite a Disney princess.

Prophecy

Apollo is the god of prophecy, so he gets some cool prophecy powers. Kinda - he can only see futures of people he has been around for a while, and only a few days or so ahead. Another problem is that because of his personality, he tends to cover his powers up or lie to people about what he sees in their future.

Magic Blood

As the avatar of the god of healing, Hasan's blood has healing properties. When one drinks it, the healing time for a wound is cut in third. However, this doesn't come without consequences. Taking too many doses will turn you into a vampire at one point.

Hamon

Even as a vampire, Hasan can still use hamon. However, this is fatal to him.

Calling Apollo

Okay so...in HSTS being an avatar is a pretty complicated process. All I can say is that when the connection between Hasan and Apollo are strong enough and Hasan is at a weakpoint, Apollo can share consciousness with him.

personality

Hasan is very reserved and takes caution when it comes to meeting people. He tends to be very intimidating when you first meet him, and definitely comes off as sour.

However, he CAN be positive. In fact, when it comes to the future, he's going to be one of the most optimistic people you can meet. This is because he literally has prophecy powers thanks to Apollo, and can at least sense that times ahead are going to be bright. He actually finds it hard to be honest to people who are going to have a bad future. Why? Because he knows that fate is something impossible to change.

Hasan can also come off as a people pleaser. When around people close to him, he ends up always following their decisions and points. Part of this is because he's scared they'll get mad and leave him. The last time someone left him, it broke his heart. He can't and won't let that happen again.

In certain situations, he will use his status / power as an avatar in a threatening manner to get what he wants. This includes protecting those close to him, or even convince them that they can be protected.

trivia

  • I originally scrapped the concepts of him being Asian, gay, and even an avatar of Apollo. However, I came to realize that each of these could fit into the story.
  • I actually made him questioning at first instead of outright gay. I felt like if I did that, the fandom would only be able to joke about that part of his character and be very homophobic.

story

Summary: Hasan could use hamon and was raised to hate the Pillarmen, AKA humanity's worst enemies at the time. But when it came time to fight them, he cowered out and felt embarrassed. The leader of the Pillarmen, Kars, took him away and experimented on him. As a result, he became a vampire AND the avatar of Apollo. He now lives underground where he's practically test fodder for the Pillarmen.

Hasan was born in Asia Minor (now modern day Turkey). He had mixed descent of Asian and Greek. However, all his ancestors had one thing in common: they were all hamon users.

At this time, his parents had possession of the Red Stone of Aja. They were on a mission to pass it to Rome to keep it safe to the Pillarmen. In the process, they taught Hasan about everything related to their goal. The young boy was taught the dangers of the Pillarmen and their cruel creations called vampires, and he was even told about their evil plan to destroy everyone related to the hamon clan.

It didn't take long for these things to be drilled into his head. By the time he was a preteen, he made it his life goal to destroy the Pillarmen and become a savior of humanity.

He also got a boyfriend. His name was Marcus, and both their parents were okay with this and hoping that the two would one day get married. Marcus and Hasan's bonds were strong, and their relationship was very wholesome.

But their love would not last long. When Hasan was around fifteen, Kars came to his town. Before Hasan could even realize, the Pillarman had slaughtered his parents and boyfriend. This made Hasan feel guilty and ashamed; he had put on a facade of heroism only to fail when it came to saving those he loved most. He wanted Kars to just kill him, but he took pity on him instead.

Kars kidnapped Hasan and took him underground. There, he had the Stone Mask used on him...but with a weird side effect: it made him Apollo's avatar.

Why> Avatars are a very complex thing to explain in HSS, so I'll just leave it like this: Apollo felt a connection with Hasan. Apollo is the god of same sex love, while Hasan had a boyfriend. Apollo is the god of the sun, and Hasan was close to mastering hamon (AKA literal sun energy). And when the Stone Mask was used on him, it gave him temporary amnesia, erasing all his past sin like he was a god.

Kars began experimenting with Hasan, theorizing and experimenting with his new powers. He thought that Hasan's new magic healing blood could possibly be an alternate method to becoming the Ultimate Lifeform.

On the other hand, Hasan became very intrigued by the Pillarmen. He didn't have anyone else in his life at this point, so he thought that sticking with them was his only option and hope.

More can be found in Brandy's story, Her Stone, the Sun...if I can ever find the time to write it.
