Hope

Hope is very timid. She might harbor a little bit of anger about their situation deep down, but she doesn't let it show (or at least not for a long time). All she really wants is for her and Martin to be accepted so all of this can calm down and they can get on with a nice, quiet life. Of course that doesn't happen.

Even though she is only a few minutes younger than Martin, Hope very much acts the younger sister, often relying on him to be macho and defend her. Her timidity is really a result of her incredibly low self-confidence, which isn't helped in the least by the amount of teasing and shunning she and Martin receive.

She very, VERY reluctantly agrees to Martin's plan to purify the Mansion Man. Meeting Ollister only confirms her fears - at least for a while. Then that crazy magical wreck of a boy slowly pulls her out of her shell, coaxing her into the real world and showing her that she can be somebody all on her own.
At some point she suddenly realizes that she really likes him, and having a crush on a immortal magical entity certainly has its problems.
