To understand how Zila was born you first need to understand Fae magic. In Loria, natural conception isn’t the only way to have children. The Fae can also produce offspring through magical means, allowing same sex relationships to have biological children. It involves a blood sample from both parents, added to a solution containing a very specific elixir, which only a Priestess can make. The solution is then mixed, and moved into a magical barrier which acts as a womb. The solution then grows and creates a child. Luna and Yami decided they wanted children after the final Dio battle. They felt it was time to give Via the family she deserves, and that included siblings. The ritual went smoothly and thanks to Mana’s time magic the child was born soon after, the process having been sped up. However, Zila wasn’t like any other Fae ever born. Her parent’s powers had a huge part to play in this, Luna being pure Light, and Yami being pure Darkness, the result being a creature of both branches. When a child is born, a dominant power always arises, but Zila didn’t have one. The Light and Dark were equal, which was unheard of. Maylin decided to call Zila an Ethereal Fae, because she was the first of her kind.
