Zygi was formerly a hero of the Defenders of Neopia, known by the alias Cheery Eyrie, and took great pride in his work. After fighting crime for 12 years, the Defenders of Neopia abruptly disbanded, claiming that an increasing amount of pets were able to defend themselves in the battledome. After losing his job, Zygi grew bitter and emotionally hardened. He knew that there were still pets out there that needed their help. 8 years after his forced retirement, he opened his own private investigation firm, where he now takes cases for Neopets in need, albeit for a price.
