I was brainstorming the captain of the Golden Cockle and fell in love with the idea of water vole!!! Voles are very underrated and weirdly straddle the moral dichotomy in Redwall, and I've always been really taken by the community of "water rats" (voles) who were left to live in Castle Marl.

So here's my gal!!! she's a charismatic corsair, commands a crew of vermin and woodlanders both. Good natured and loves to roughhouse, but isn't lawful by any stretch of the imagination. Makes a good living ferrying vermin up and down the coast to profitable pillaging locations and transporting loot (hence the name of her vessel). Her crew will hire themselves out as mercenaries to their warlord passengers.
