He is the small, sickly thirty-seven-year old roommate of Pixy Burrow. He is a programmer, and seems to have mild agoraphobia. Despite his off putting appearance, Norman is an easygoing, calm, and responsible person. He is deeply caring, but equally standoffish, as he isn’t used to the presence of others - he’s lived alone most of his life, and Pixy is both a breath of fresh air, and an oddity.

Norman is an enigmatic figure, to put it one way. Reclusive, but well read, and well spoken, he prefers the company of silence to any human person. Well, that is the impression he gives off, and he doesn’t try hard to dissuade it. Approaching middle age, he is unwed and still single, and he has made his peace with that. Or so he tells himself.

However, loneliness still hits him at times, and he has more space than he can really use, despite living in a fairly small apartment, as he doesn’t really do much besides read, write, and think. So, on a whim, and hoping to meet knew people, he decides to take on a roommate.

That roommate, who left her life behind on a whim, enters his. This is, of course, Pixy.

Norman is an unusual looking person. He has proportionate dwarfism, making him of small stature both in weight and size. His body hair, which is black, stands out very starkly against his sickly pale skin, which is quite pale from him rarely leaving his house during daylight hours. Norman's eyes are big, hard to read, and a haunting moonlight grey. His distinctive lips are very thin, and almost easy to miss, and will sometimes purse into a quirked, knowing smile, revealing teeth like a military cemetery. He has high cheekbones, and dark eyebags. In canon he is described as looking like a "sickly and emaciated little Victorian boy."

He is often mistaken for a cancer patient when he goes out, or otherwise assumed to be deathly ill. In truth, he just "looks like that."

Norman takes some pride in dressing well, enjoying what little sense of control he can exert over his appearance, and so he oftentimes compensates for his Peter Lorre like visage with sharp outfits, and a sharper tongue, which mostly only aids in making him look even more like the ghost of a polio victim.

Relationships

Norman is a very reclusive man, and most of his interactions with people are sparse or past tense. He is no contact with his family, and anyone from his life pre-college, including his former friends, Mack Rutger and Ducky Kohen. Now though, Norman is trying to rebuild his life, starting with his befriending his new roommate, Pixy Burrow. She is... more affectionate with him than anticipated, however, and this is causing some complicated feelings in Norman, who has been isolated and lonely for so long.
