Born from Blue's growing anxiety and depression during their teenage years, Red is Blue's doppelganger and represents their flaws and negative thoughts.

Up until they became a teenager, Blue led a pretty normal life until they were finally exposed to how needlessly cruel and nasty the world and the people on it could be. As they grew up and went through their teenage years, Blue was heckled, bullied, and made fun of quite a bit during this time. This led to constant thoughts of insecurity and fear in their brain, and these thoughts soon culminated into the creation of Red, Blue's doppelganger born of pure negativity, suffering, and hatred.

Red's sole purpose is to make Blue's live a living hell as best they can. They often act as the little negative voice in their head; second guessing every little thought and action Blue thinks and does, and constantly putting them down and pointing out their flaws and mistakes. As a result of being born due to Blue's ever increasing negative thoughts, they don't actually physically exist in the real world and simply exist in Blue's mind.

When Red was born, it didn't take long for them to leave their mark on Blue to symbolize what they stood for. To emphasize how naïve and blind Blue was to both the world and the people around them, Red scarred Blue's eyes with little sympathy, claiming Blue to be a blind fool.

The torment would only get worse from here as Blue got older, growing more cold and isolated from everyone as they pushed everyone away and reacted harshly to anyone who tried to cross too closely to their path. The depression got worse, and so did the isolation. It was exactly what Red wanted.

However, with each growing pain and with each passing year, Blue began to realize that this wasn't okay. They realized what they were doing was extremely unhealthy, and that they needed to finally confront the problem head on instead of beating around the bush and pretending it hardly existed.

Blue eventually came face to face with Red once again. Red, thinking they could do what they've always done, gave a snarky laugh at Blue. However, Blue took their shot at that moment, and when Red opened their eyes, Blue took the chance and clawed at Red's eyes just as they did to Blue all those years ago. Blue soon clawed at Red's mouth as a symbol for them to shut up.

Red was, of course, taken aback at this sudden wave of courage Blue seemed to have gotten, and tried to fight back. At this point, thought, Blue knew their game along with every trick in their book, and it didn't take long for Red to become overpowered by Blue. However, despite how badly Blue wanted to simply slit Red's throat and get them to shut up forever, they knew Red couldn't be forever gone. Red was simply the little voice in their head, a product of Blue's thoughts. They weren't real.

So, Blue let them go. Red was once again taken aback, but despite the act of mercy, Red still vowed to do everything they could to keep Blue's live a living hell.

Since that confrontation, though, Red has had a much weaker grip on Blue and their thoughts, with Blue learning to simply ignore the thoughts and to try and live with them as best they could. Red still tries to sabotage Blue's happiness, but oftentimes Blue simply brushes it off.

Red even questions how Blue has come to ignore them so well, and Blue can't help but smile, saying that the bad experiences from Red helped shape them into the better person they are now. Blue also points out how Red isn't really real and can't truly be gone, so you just kind of learn how to live with the thoughts as best you can. Red eventually grows to have a bit of newfound respect for Blue after that.

After the ordeal, Blue also adorns the well-known blue face paint, symbolizing their growth into the person they are now. Meanwhile, despite Red adorning the opposite color of face paint, the scars over their eyes are still clearly visible, unlike Blue where the paint hides them, symbolizing that Red is often stuck in the past and doesn't let go of certain things.
